The more fractionated and incomplete your puzzle is (awareness of yourself) the more fractionated and volatile your mind will be & the more you will judge yourself & expect yourself to live in other people's values.

Your emotions are feedback to let you know when you are overlooking things.
Everything in reality has two sides, an upside ➕ and a downside. ➖
If you compare your life to something you think is all positive (and you overlook the negatives) your life will be a nightmare by contrast.
If you compare your life to something you think is all negative (and you overlook the positives) your life will be a fantasy by contrast.
There is an area in your life where you are most ambitious, instead of avoiding challenges you actually love to take on challenges in that area.

What area is that for you?
In that area is where you are able to be present with people, you are inspired and authentic when you persuit that.

Did you know your stress response 😫 is inversely proportional to how meaningful you perceive your life to be? 🙏
The challenges in your life are always conserved but if you are focused on things that are valuable and meaningful to you, you will have ambition and a desire to take on challenges in that area that inspire you, this is also referred to as eustress.
When you do this you access the most evolved part of your brain,🧠 the pre-frontal cortex, this is the area that allows you to create strategies, see a vision and use reason to solve challenges.
If you are doing menial work, focusing on low-priority things that don’t engage you🥱 or you are not yet fully conscious of what is most valuable and meaningful in your life 🤔(your purpose) you will tend to avoid challenges because you are doing things that don’t inspire you😒 (distress).
Whenever you are distressed you operate from the amygdala, the survival brain.
Your brain doesn’t distinguish between real danger like a tiger about to eat you 🐅and a perceived danger, like a deadline or angry boss or partner🤬, both will trigger the same response, the activation of the sympathetic nervous system. (aka fight or flight response)🏃
When you are operating from this perspective, your mind will exaggerate the ⬆️ negative/downside/drawback of something and minimise ⬇️the positive/upside/benefit of something.
Your mind creates this distortion for a reason, to initiate a fear/anxiety response.😰
Your fear and anxiety response will then raise the levels of adrenaline & cortisol ⬆️ in your bloodstream, mobilising the energy💥to prepare you to run away or fight the perceived predator or distress.
(For survival reasons it’s better to over-exaggerate⬆️ the danger/risk/negatives and mobilise the energy to run away💥 when you hear a twig snap or a rustle in the grass and assume it’s a predator 🐅then to ignore it and assume it’s nothing😴 and unnecessarily risk being eaten.)
Your stress response is invaluable in life-thretenting acute situations.
However if you are holding onto memories of stress or perceived traumatic experiences from the past 💭these perceptions that linger in the back of your mind will create a

Your fears are simply incomplete awareness, missing information.💤
Once you do the thing and look back on it you realise there was nothing to fear.
The people you fear is a symptom of not understanding that person and what drives their behaviour.
The fear of death is in part due to a lack of understanding of what exactly happens to you when you die, missing information.
The fear of public speaking isn't a fear of speaking, it's a misperception that someone in the audience has something that you don't ➡️ leading to intimidation➡️fear, again the missing information in this case is where you have what you see in them in your own form (minimising yourself, exaggerating them, missing information).
There's even a guy that lives with lions .schneider because he understands how to interact with them (that information is not missing in his awareness).
Your greatest fears are where you have your greatest mis-perceptions and greatest ignorance.
Learn about the thing, get present with it, see the bigger picture of it and move past it.

Something I was thinking about this morning…
When you are a 5-year-old one year seems like ages, when you are 30 years old, time flies by.
Time is relative.
When you are 5 years old, one year is 1/5th of the time that you have been alive so it seems like ages.
When you are 35, one year is 1/35th of the time you have been alive, so relative to the time that you have so far experienced, it seems like it flies by a lot faster.
So if we don’t become aware of it, we can fall into the time trap of thinking we have plenty of time when we are young, only for the perception of time to accelerate and catch us off guard.
Value your time, it literally goes by faster than you think.

The comparisons that you make in your mind.
On social media, most people are posting the highlights of their life and it's very easy to fall into the trap of comparing your 2 sided life to a misleading fantasy one-sided life that you see on Instagram.
Your awareness of your life ⚪️⚫️

by contrast = 😔
𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
The questions you ask yourself either:
- draw your attention to what you aren't currently aware of or
-dominate your attention further on what you are already aware of.
If you are experiencing elation or depression the cause is rooted in your mind.
Ask:
What are the hidden downsides to the thing I think is all upside?
If you compare your reality to a fantasy⚪️ your life will feel like a nightmare. ⚫️ (Instagram)
If you compare your life to a nightmare ⚫️ (tv news) your life will feel like a fantasy.⚪️
