Today the VIC government announced plans for 'More PSOs, More Places, More Often'.

More private security officers in public spaces, equals more surveillance not more safety.

“What I'd like to see is rather than spending money on punitive or carceral responses, is to have community development workers, lived experience workers, working with us and developing responses," said Patrick Chiappalone (HPUVic).

Homeless Persons Union Victoria (HPUVic) shows us time and time again, that current systems set up to criminalise poverty and disadvantage, only cause further harm.

We know we can do better, we already know what works, Alternative First Responders that centre care, not force.
