Today, we are exploring a true cultural staple during National Vegemite Day. Invented in Melbourne in 1923 by chemist Cyril Callister, this yeast extract spread has a rich history in Australian households.
The children are participating in a multi-sensory learning experience that includes a history lesson on how it was developed from leftover brewer's yeast, a look at vintage advertising, and a taste-testing session. Exploring the uniquely salty and umami-rich flavour profile allows children to practice descriptive vocabulary and learn about local food traditions and industrial history.

👕🩷 Pyjamas, Purpose & Plenty of Heart! 🩷👕
On Pyjama Day, this July, our children and educators will be swapping their everyday clothes for their favourite PJs to help raise funds for children living in foster care.
While wearing pyjamas to kinder/childcare is lots of fun, it also provides a meaningful opportunity to talk with children about kindness, caring for others, and the importance of helping those in our wider community.
Every donation, regardless of its size, helps provide children in foster care with access to learning resources, educational support, and opportunities to thrive.
If you would like to support this wonderful cause, you can donate via the link below:

Musical Minds in Our Curriculum 🎶
We are fortunate to have a regular specialist music teacher visit our centre to deliver the Musical Minds program, which is thoughtfully integrated into our curriculum.
Grounded in the Orff–Schulwerk approach and Kodály methodology, and aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework, the program supports children’s development in rhythm, language, listening, and coordination through engaging, hands-on experiences from babies up to our 4-year-old kindergarten Children sing lyrics and solfa, explore songs in different languages and Auslan, and respond to music through expressive movement and dance.
With live singing and ukulele/guitar accompaniment from our specialist music teacher, these sessions provide rich, interactive musical experiences that complement and enhance our broader learning program.
Music continues to be a wonderful way for our children to connect, express themselves, and grow 💛

The ocean covers over seventy percent of our planet, and today, on World Oceans Day, we are teaching our children how to safeguard this vital resource.
Our educational program today focuses on marine conservation, pollution prevention, and the diverse wildlife that calls the sea home. Through interactive water play, stories about coral reefs, and discussions on how plastic waste affects sea turtles and fish, the children are discovering how land-based communities directly impact ocean health. We are proud to foster early habits that support clean waterways and vibrant marine life.

Please be advised that the centre will be closed today, Monday, 8th, in observance of the King’s Birthday public holiday. This official closure applies to all care rooms and administrative services.
We highly value these opportunities for our dedicated staff to recharge and for our families to spend quality time together. We encourage everyone to enjoy a safe, relaxing long weekend. Normal operations, standard care hours, and learning programs will resume tomorrow morning at their usual times.

World Environment Day 🌍
An initiative aimed at inspiring positive atmospheric and environmental protection. Today, our focus centres on promoting sustainability, fostering a deep connection to nature, and encouraging personal responsibility through immersive, hands-on learning. Children are participating in interactive workshops covering waste segregation, composting, and water conservation.
By engaging directly with soil, plants, and recycled materials, our goal is to empower the next generation to understand that small, daily sustainable practices contribute to the health of our entire global ecosystem.

Today marks the official start of the winter season, providing a perfect natural classroom for our children. Throughout the day, we are diving into the science of seasonal changes, discussing how the earth tilts away from the sun, why the days become shorter, and how the drop in temperature affects local plant and animal life.
Through sensory play with ice, weather charting, and discussions about how we adapt our clothing and routines for the cooler months, the children are developing critical observation skills and a deeper understanding of the world's natural cycles.
