What a beautiful spring day 🌸

Nature has lots to offer for our little ones. A walk can be a great opportunity to notice and talk about the different things in our environment.

Chalk Painting
A bit messy but she loved it!

Homemade Pizza πŸ•
A friend told me about this super simple dough I've never tried before as I'm not much of a baker. 2 ingredients! – Self-raising flour and Plain Greek yoghurt. Knead it, roll it out, tomato paste as a base and add whatever topping you want. So easy.

Mid-Autumn Festival is coming up soon and I've been reading these books to L from our local library. She really enjoyed 'A big mooncake for little Star' by Grace Lin as the illustrations were simple and clear. 'Moon Messenger' by Wei Jie and Xia XinXin was longer and for older kids but L still enjoyed the illustrations.

The weather is getting warmer and it's nice for L to finally play for a little longer outside in the sun. We're in the middle of making a mud kitchen for L.

From time to time I make a veggie slice for Leah. Such a simple and easy on-the-go lunch or afternoon snack. It's similar to the veggie muffins I made before, you can change it up with whatever veggies you have.

🎢 Roll, roll, roll the dough, roll it just like this. Roll it this way, roll it that way, roll the dough like this 🎢

L has come a long way from her first play-dough encounter. I wouldn't say she loves it but she doesn't mind touching it. I sing the above tune to add some fun and new words to her experience. (Tune is 'Row, row, row your boat').

I love seeing the world through L's eyes. She sees things that we don't even care for on a normal stroll down the road. I always try to remember to use descriptive language when talking to/commenting on her findings and actions.

Now to get on with the walk without having to stop at every letterbox and saying each number πŸ€”

Happy Birthday to my God Son!
This was a few months back but as for Godma duties I think I nailed it. Let's just say I've had my quota of baking for the year but I have to admit it was fun and satisfying to make this minion cake for my big 2 year old! ❀️ Love Godma

Lots of sensory play in our household currently.

L is at the stage where she absolutely needs to know everything. I mean everything. What everything is, where everything is, what everything feels like, if she can pick it up, if she can move it, where she can move it, and you know where this story goes if you have a toddler.

So... why not just go with it. I was preparing corn for L and of course she was watching and so I gave her the corn hush as I was peeling it. Little did I know the next day the husk peel turned in to this twirly whirly thing. I think I was more amazed. It was a nice addition to her 'ingredients' when playing with her pots and pans.

POM POMS with Duplo!
Simple combo for exploring colour and sorting for those like L who loves to post items inside things. At this stage I'm modelling the sorting and using language (my words) to show L the different colours in her pom pom collection.

Pasta, pasta, pasta!
L loves her carbs and pasta. So it was only fitting to place a few uncooked pastas (in different shapes) aside for her to play with. It's not just the different textures but also the sound they make against metal bowls which create such a sensory packed experience.
