Summer is here, and we have some beautiful sunny days and more time to spend with family. We find ourselves at the beach enjoying the sun and sand when the weather is warm. The beach provides many sensory development options, like feeling the sand between your toes, water play and collecting all shapes of beautiful seashells.

Little ones love creating Christmas crafts, paper chains, something to hang on the Christmas tree or a festive hat. At SCC, we have been making some wonderful Christmas-inspired crafts to gift to our families. While Santa prepares to take to the skies, why not enjoy festive crafting with your child.

Christmas is a magical time, and now is the perfect time for your
child to write a letter to Santa. Little ones may not be able to write
just yet, so you could help them write their letter, and they could draw pictures. If you want to exercise their fine motor skills, you could ask them to use child-safe scissors to cut out pictures in a catalogue for some of the treasures they wish to receive.

At SCC, everyone is always welcome at our tea parties. Imaginary sweet treats are always on the menu. Tea is poured, and friends giggle. Will you join our next one?

Water play is not only fun but has so many benefits for little ones!

Water play is perfect for creative children while developing hand-eye coordination, concerntration and focus. Not to mention it brings so much joy while splashing around and being silly.

Playing with toys, threading beads onto string and drawing develop fine motor skills.

Fine motor skills are critical as children grow to assist with strengthening small hand muscles for when they begin learning to write.

At SCC we celebrate diversity and inclusion. We educate our children on different cultures, particular our first nations people.

We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land and teach our children about Aboriginal culture through reading stories, singing and art.
