At Community Bank Upwey & District and Emerald & District, we’re excited to share something special… our 2026 Staff Grant Program!

Each of our staff members was given the opportunity to choose and surprise a local community group they’re passionate about supporting. Because our team works with the community every day, they see firsthand the incredible work being done and were absolutely thrilled to support a local group with a surprise $1,500 donation. 💛

We’re excited to share these moments with you over the coming weeks.

7️⃣ Our seventh presentation was made by Lisa, our Customer Service Officer based in Upwey. Lisa chose to support the Dandenong Ranges Music Council (DRMC)

Lisa chose this group as she " has gotten to know people in the group from their regular banking at the Upwey branch and believes members will really benefit from this grant."

Our first concert for the year is coming up soon! 3pm Sunday May 3rd at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church 5 Morris Road Upwey (on the roundabout opp, the CFA). Lots of great music, some favourites plus some new. Adults $25, Cons $20 and kids under 16 are free. A reminder that the DRMC Annual General Meeting is coming up on April 8th. All are welcome!

VALE Ray Yates. It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of this wonderful gentleman who had been such a positive energy within the DRMC for so many years. Ray first became a board member in 2011 and then became CEO in 2012 and served in this role with warmth and integrity, meticulous attention to governance and positivity, only leaving this post early in 2025 due to ill health. Ray was patient, generous-hearted and treated everyone he met with respect. He was passionate about the importance of music in the national education curriculum. Ray will be dearly missed. The DRMC forward our sincere condolences to Cathy his wife and all the family.
A memorial service for Ray will be held at 2pm on Monday 1st December at Tatra Receptions 1401 Mt Dandenong Tourist Road Mt. Dandenong. A livestream will be available from selwynallenfunerals.com.au. If lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Pankind https://www.pankind.org.au
