ISANA VIC/TAS congratulates all recipients of the Victorian Global Learning Awards presented at The Pavilion, Arts Centre today. It was a privilege to hear recipients acknowledge the support of their school advisors, teachers and homestay hosts. Schools across Victoria are providing an invaluable and rewarding educational experience for their international students, ensuring both their academic and welfare needs are met through excellence in teaching and learning as well as enriching co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

It was a pleasure for ISANA VIC/TAS to be a part of “She’ll be Right”, a joint effort by AFIS - Australian Federation of International Students, ISANA, and artistic director Catherine Simmonds from the Act of Translation Reaches Out.
During two hours of the show, international students who participated in a weekly workshop translated their minds into an inspiring drama performance delivered through their own voice and body movements.
Many of the viewers, especially those who were international students, felt emotionally touched by the performance. Some said they had not seen anything like this before. Lots of tissues were circulated around the room.
Thanking Acting Study Melbourne Director, Rebecca Skinner for welcoming everyone to the show and thank you Study Melbourne for your support and generosity to make the show happen. Also, thank you Victoria University, Melbourne Australia for hosting the show.
ISANA VIC/TAS is looking forward to another partnership with Catherine to support more international students in Victoria. Big congratulations to everyone who took part in “She’ll be Right”!

PD infor:😉
There is evidence that 1 in 4 people aged 15-24 will experience mental ill-health in one year. More specifically, tertiary students with mental health issues are at higher risk of dropping out early, academic failure, limited social connections and poor health outcomes.
This topic is relevant to all of us as we work hard every day trying to make a difference in the lives of international students. Sometimes we feel powerless to do anything positive which is why this PD is so important. The presenters bring a wealth of knowledge and experience and will provide a way for you to think about wellbeing and importantly, how to improve your own and that of others. Please see below for more information and registration details.
