🔥 June is National Burns Awareness Month
Burn injuries can happen in everyday moments - from hot drinks and hot water bottles to electric blankets and heating devices. Prevention and awareness play an important role in reducing harm, particularly for children, older Australians and people living with reduced mobility or sensation.
Burns can have a significant long-term impact on skin integrity, healing and quality of life. This month, we encourage our community to share the message around burn prevention and safety at home.

🖤💛❤️ National Reconciliation Week
Chronic wounds do not exist in isolation. For many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, they intersect with broader barriers to care, including access, geography and social determinants of health.
This year’s National Reconciliation Week theme, All In, is a call for all Australians to take responsibility and contribute to meaningful change.
In wound care, this means recognising inequities, listening to community voices and working together to improve access to culturally safe, appropriate care.
Reconciliation is not a passive process. It requires ongoing commitment, reflection and action across the health sector and at Wounds Australia, we continue to work with partners and communities to support more equitable and culturally safe wound care.
