🎉Albert was awarded The Cathedral Grammar School 2025 Music Competitions Overall Music Cup for excellence across multiple instruments (piano, cello, and trumpet).

🎉Albert also received The CGS 2025 Music Competitions Most Commendable award in his piano category - the only other prize awarded aside from 1st place.

🎉Albert also passed ABRSM Music Theory Grade 5 exam with a near perfect score of 74/75.

🎉Albert was awarded The CGS music class award and selected as the Head of Music at The Cathedral Grammar School for the upcoming academic year.

🌟Congratulations to Piano Pillars student Victoria Leung! 🌟

🎉Victoria was recently awarded the Soroptimist International Christchurch Music Scholarship for outstanding and exceptional musical talent. 🎉 Victoria also passed her ABRSM Grade 7 piano exam with distinction, 🎉 and was selected as an assembly pianist at Westburn School.

Such a fantastic set of achievements - well done, Victoria! 👏👏🎹

🥳 Congratulations to Piano Pillars student Tristan Dunlop! 🥳

Tristan had an incredible showing at the Cashmere High School Music Competitions not too long ago, taking home 🎉1st Prize for Piano, 🎉2nd Overall on Violin, 🎉Best Piano or Violin Performance, 🎉Senior Arts Person of the Year, 🎉Musician of the Year, 🎉Most Promising Jazz Musician, and 🎉Best “Four Strings” Performance.

I’ve had the privilege of guiding Tristan’s piano preparation, but these awards truly reflect his all-round musical talent, dedication, and outstanding work ethic. Such a fantastic way to finish high school - well done, Tristan! 👏 👏 🎶

🎉 Student Spotlight – 2024 Irene Lassen Cup 🎉

Congratulations to Piano Pillars student Renee Jiang, who was recently awarded the 2024 Irene Lassen Cup for her Grade 8 ABRSM piano exam, earning an outstanding 147/150 — and she was just 11 years old at the time of the exam! 🌟

This prestigious annual award is presented to an advanced-level ABRSM candidate from across all instruments in Christchurch, in recognition of exceptional achievement and musical promise, as recommended by a senior examiner.

We were honoured to present Renee with the award earlier this month — a proud and memorable moment for all.

Huge congratulations to Piano Pillars Academy student Renee Jiang! 🎉🥳 🎊 Last week, Renee was selected to receive a much coveted and highly competitive music scholarship at Rangi Ruru Girls' School for all five years of high school beginning next year.

This follows the music scholarship award that Renee received at Rangi for years 7 and 8. Stellar, consistent work!
