Always was, always will be Aboriginal Land. 🖤💛❤️
The ongoing impacts of colonisation – from systemic discrimination to everyday racism – makes First Nations women, their children and families unsafe. 💔
Telling the truth about the injustices of colonisation and making agreements about how we move forward is how we create a safer future.
In Victoria we now have a Treaty with First Peoples. Treaty is about building new relationships based on respect, and is key to preventing the disproportionate rates of gendered violence against First Nations women and families. 🧡
Learn how you can show your support and be a part of Treaty
Today and every day we stand in solidarity with First Peoples everywhere.

Hot day. Big crowd. Even bigger energy. ☀️🌈
On Sunday at , Love You Queerly, a collaboration between Respect Victoria and became a space for pride, care and connection in the middle of it all. In a world that can feel hostile to trans and gender diverse people, care was powerful and visible, written, shared and shown in countless ways with one clear message: you are loved.
Thank you for braving the heat, dropping by to say hi and bringing so much heart. We love you queerly 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️

Our hearts are with Victorians facing the devastation of bushfire and floods. With an increased risk of gendered violence in times of disaster, here’s what we can do to help keep each other safe 🧡

Last month, almost 11,000 Victorians came together to stand in solidarity with people experiencing violence, and to walk for a Victoria where we are all safe, equal and respected. 🧡
Artist and volunteers brought The Lost Petition to the Walk Against Family Violence, an ongoing textile artwork that lists women and children killed by men’s use of violence. Visit ’s link in bio to learn how you can support bringing this work to the Northern Territory.

Respect Victoria is deeply shocked and saddened by the terrorist attack on Jewish families and community members at Bondi Beach. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, the Jewish community and all affected.
As an organisation dedicated to preventing violence, we condemn all forms of violence, racism and discrimination, including antisemitism. Everyone has a right to freely celebrate their faith, their culture, and their community with joy and without fear. There should be no place in our society, communities, or homes for acts of hate.
In a time of deep fear and grief for Jewish communities, we ask all Victorians to reject rhetoric and acts of violence that seek to divide us, and to instead to lean into the kindness and respect required for us all to live in safety.
Take care of yourselves and reach out to each other for support. If you need to talk to someone, you can also call Lifeline on 13 11 14, Beyond Blue on 1300 22 4636, or 13YARN on 13 92 76.
Online spaces should be safe for everyone, but this is a time when you may come across distressing videos or images. If you see violent, distressing or harmful material, the eSafety Commission has the following advice:
1. Don’t share it further – even if your intention is to raise awareness, you may cause distress to others.
2. Report graphic material to the platform you see if on to help get it removed quickly.
3. If the material is not removed, or if it’s seriously harmful, you can report it at eSafety.gov.au/report.
This is also a time to be extra mindful of what children are viewing online or seeing on the news. The Royal Children’s Hospital has a guide for discussing distressing news events with children that can be found at rch.org.au.
