I have travelled to China 4 times on business since I commenced the course this year, it has been a great help and a lot of fun speaking to the local Chinese. I will be travelling back probably another 3 times before Christmas and I feel well equipped to handle many situations. Although I cannot discuss business at this stage I can get by quite easily travelling, having minor chitchat and I am able to get what I need and be understood in many situations...mostly with a lot of laughing from them. For someone who has never attempted another language and I would hate to say how long it has been since I went to school but with this course and type of teaching, I have learnt so much! I am far from the best student and do not do enough after class practise but still I have learnt. Chris Hingston

I have recently joined your classes in Mandarin. At the time I did not know your accelerated principles, but having enjoyed every class and experienced the technique, I am to commend you. I had attended other language learning schools and find yours fun, enjoyable to the extent of finding myself eager for the next class, and on top of this I am learning Mandarin with greater depth and understanding. At this point I would like to complement Ling-Sea whom I find has a very refreshing teaching style, and allows learning Mandarin to be enjoyable. Ken

This is just a quick note to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed the past 2 years at ACCS. The atmosphere is friendly, the teachers always make you feel welcome and the material is very well written in a user friendly way that helps me to learn. I would like to pay particular thanks to Ling Lin Cai who has been my teacher for most of 2009, her teaching methodology has been fantastic, she is an extremely intelligent and well educated teacher and has an ability to really create a great team atmosphere in our class room. Ling Lin always puts in 100% and the students all really respect her, I feel that my Mandarin skills have improved this year from working with her. I will be definitely returning in 2010, as will all of our classmates from our 2009 group Level 6. Well-done guys keep up the great work! Andrew Burgess

As you know the Mandarin Intensive course held in Sydney is now over and I just wanted to say that, together with my other classmates, we really enjoyed it very much. One of the main reasons we have enjoyed the course so much is certainly due to Ji Chao's extraordinary professionalism and teaching skills. For example, Ji Chao was more than happy to be stopped at any time if we did not understand something to clarify and answer our questions. She was so enthusiastic and yet non-judgmental and this made us feel so comfortable and minimised any frustrations associated with learning a new language. And yes she always had a smile and yet so skilfully managed to present all the material within the allocated time so we felt no pressure, no frustration. Beautiful experience. Thank you very much. I really like Carol's approach. Carol possesses a nuturing, positive and encouraging teaching style, clearly founded on her obvious professionalism and competence, coupled with her clear capacity to distil the language to her students in a relaxed, but clear, supportive and coherent manner. Carol is a credit to the ACCS tutoring team. Chris Quan too in Beginners 1 is clearly a dedicated and professional tutor. If both Carol and Chris are a reflection on the overall quality of ACCS's tutors generally, then that is ample motivation to remain with ACCS over the course of my Mandarin language study. I just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful Chinese course. I have always wanted to learn Mandarin, but it was always 'too hard'. Your course is just the right mixture of tradition, didactic, practice, and fun. Importantly, the mood in the classes is that 'this is easy', which really helps.Regarding Ling Sea specifically, I am continually amazed at how much she knows about learning Chinese. I am sure that in a single class, Ling Sea would tell us at least 10 ways how to get more out of the class; "write this list, practice in this way, listen in this manner". It is obvious that she has been teaching for a long time, and is a font of wisdom. She really wants us to maximise class value; she takes our learning seriously. Finally, I appreciate how closely she follows to the traditions of ACCS (eg meditation, review). Dr Dennis Wollersheim

Firstly I would like to thank you for the opportunity to learn Mandarin in one of your Sydney ACCS classes. I am thoroughly enjoying each lesson and look forward to every Tuesday afternoon to learn more. The ACCS classes are FABULOUS!! David was so glad that he joined up. He has learnt a lot before at university but he finds the teaching techniques used and the interesting 'stories' at ACCS very effective at assisting us to learn and remember Mandarin. I am already having fun revising the course which is presented in a creative, interesting manner and am so pleased to be able to utilise the highly effective aid of visual stories in terms of writing Chinese.
