What a great month we've had and it's not over yet.
We had a fantastic time over the long weekend at National Celtic Festival Australia Official running workshops and calling at the ceilis. It was great to see so many people on the dancefloor even at our 9:30am workshop! It was great to be part of the dance program alongside a fabulous lineup of artists from Australia and all over the world. Many thanks to Una McAlinden, her team and everyone involved in putting together such a wonderful festival again.

Coming up!!
ISDAV are having a dance and music workshop day in Pascoe Vale this Saturday (27th)!! There will be 3 dance workshops with Marie, Bonney and myself starting at 2pm and 2 music workshops with Joan and Ray Mundy starting at 3:15pm.
Workshops will run until 5:30pm. After a dinner break join us again at 7:30 pm for live music, dancing and a chance to show what we learnt in the workshops.
$30 for dancing workshops $10 for music workshops $5 discount for ISDAV members (www.isdav.org.au)
The evening dance is $15 or FREE for workshop attendees.

Ceili tonight!! 7:30-10:00pm, Live music! Ringwood East Senior Citizens Hall (2-8 laurence Grove Ringwood East) Just $15!!!!

Tonight as part of the Victorian Folk Music Club 's Port Phillip Dance festival, Matt, Marie and Bonney are representing ISDAV (isdav.org.au) and running the Irish ceili.
All dances taught, walked through and called. Everyone welcome.

There is an extensive program for the Port Phillip Dance Festival this weekend see below for the details. Full weekend ticket $90 ($70 for VFMC members)

It's March and just 1 week until St Patrick's Day!!!
Here are a few events on that we'd love you all to know about.
Firstly on this Sunday 15th March, we're running a Family Ceili with the Irish Social Dance Association Victoria (www.isdav.org.au).
2-5pm, The Djeering Centre Abbotsford. $20 ($15 for ISDAV members), under 16s free!!.
There will be live music, heaps of fun dancing and afternoon tea (bring a plate to share is always appreciated).

Then, Tuesday 17th, St Pat's Day! We're at the Hooley with Comhaltas Melbourne 7-10pm, St Phillips Anglican Chirch hall, Hoddle St Abbotsford. $15 ($10 Comhaltas members)

Then once you've recovered from the week, Sunday 22nd is the fabulous afternoon in Edinburgh Gardens for the Melbourne Irish Festival. We'll be dancing with our great friends at Melbourne Comhaltas. This FREE festival runs from midday - 5pm.

Dancing has returned for 2026!!!

Monday nights in Kensington at the Kensington Town Hall Supper room 8-10pm with Bonney, Tynan and Rachel. $10

Wednesday nights with Comhaltas Melbourne at the Djeering Centre Abbotsford with Matt 7:30pm-9:30pm $10

And Tuesday 17th Feb, The Celtic Club Melbourne set dancing returns for monthly instalments.

Also ISDAV (www.isdav.org.au) are now planning plenty of events to keep you on your feet this year.

The final week of dancing for 2025 is here!!
Tonight (Monday 15/12), dancing at the Kensington Town Hall supper room is preceded by a group dinner (at own cost) at Aunty Annie's (formerly The Quiet Man) from 6pm, then dancing to begin at 8pm. $10.

Tomorrow (Tuesday 16/12), the Celtic Club Melbourne Dance night with LIVE MUSIC supplied by the Celtic Club 7:30-9:30pm.

For those that haven't caught the news, Marie has announced her semi-retirement from teaching and organising many many dance events in and around Melbourne. Don't worry though, you'll still see Marie on the dance floor as a few of us younger dancers step up under Marie's guidance.

It's already been a busy month of dancing with the set dance weekend in Canberra and then a workshop afternoon with Comhaltas Melbourne, but we're not done yet!

Tonight (21/10) dancing with Matt at The Celtic Club Melbourne 7:30-9:00pm.

Wednesday, dancing as always at the Djeering Centre Abbotsford with Comhaltas Melbourne. 7:30-9:30pm

Then this Sunday afternoon (26/10), we have a lovely afternoon of dancing planned with the Irish Social Dance Association Victoria (isdav.org.au) at the Edinburgh Gardens Community Room (next door to the tennis courts and the pavilion). ISDAV's AGM will start at 2pm with dancing to start at 2:30pm. This is a FREE event! Come and hear about what ISDAV are all about or just come for the dancing. All welcome, a small plate to share for afternoon tea would be appreciated but not required.

Hello to all our dancing friends,
It's finally spring and we're both back in action!
Matt has returned after taking time away to welcome his baby boy Albert, who came much earlier than planned and needed some extra support for the last 5 months. Albert and his mum are both now doing very well.

Anyhow onwards we go, dancing continues every Monday night at the Kensington Town Hall Supper room with Marie sharing the class with a couple of our younger ISDAV members Bonney and Tynan. 8-10pm, $10

This Tuesday/tomorrow (16/9) Matt is on at the Celtic Club Melbourne for the next monthly instalment of set dancing 7:30-9:00 (often runs a little over depending on enthusiasm). All welcome, great beginner atmosphere, details here;

It's already April!
As the weather starts to cool down now is the perfect time to get dancing!

It's March already!!!
Just over a week until St. Patrick's Day so we thought we'd share what's happening over that time.
Saturday 15th March ISDAV Ceili at the Arthurs Creek Mechanics Institute Hall. It will be a night filled with dancing, a few spot acts, plenty of laughs and great music by the Mundy Ceili Band.

Sunday 16th March the Melbourne Irish Festival is on in Edinburgh Gardens, Fitzroy North. It's been a great start back for 2025 seeing so many of you back on the dancefloor for another year of fun, laughs and a bit of dancing squeezed in.
