Why does measuring learning in the early years matter?

In our latest article, ACER’s Dan Cloney explains why the years before school are so important for children’s learning, development and well-being. He also explores how the OECD International Early Learning and Child Well-being Study is helping provide the evidence needed to support better policy and practice in early childhood education.

A big moment for the team behind PISA 2025. ACER and our platform partner OAT have been recognised at the 2026 e-Assessment Awards for the delivery of PISA 2025.

That delivery was no small task: 91 countries and economies, 54 languages, and more than 900,000 sessions through a single platform that supported both online and offline assessment.

The PISA 2025 results will be released on 8 September 2026. This award recognises the work behind the scenes to make sure those results are built on consistent, reliable delivery.

At the beginning of Pride month, we've been reflecting on what it means to build a workplace culture where everyone can bring their whole self to work.

Not a curated version or a careful version. Their actual self.

How do we make it easier for the people around us to be their authentic selves?

How do we choose curiosity and kindness when our instinct might be to judge?

What might change in the workplace if every person felt completely safe to be themselves?

Pride Month is a time to recommit, individually and as an organisation, to the work of making sure everyone feels free to be their best selves at work.

At ACER we are committed!

Happy Pride Month.
