As part of our Community Helpers inquiry, we welcomed Constable Sara from Oakleigh Police Station!

The children learnt about the important role police play in our community and had the opportunity to explore the police car and ask lots of questions.

A wonderful hands-on learning experience!

For Story Week, the children in Classroom 6 brought the story of the caterpillar’s life cycle to life through dramatic play! They acted out each stage—from hatching from an egg and searching for food, to growing bigger, forming a cocoon, and finally emerging as beautiful butterflies.

The children absolutely loved becoming part of the story! Their imaginative play encouraged communication, cooperation, creativity and confidence, while helping them explore the butterfly life cycle in a fun and meaningful way

Our toddlers brought the much-loved story We’re Going on a Bear Hunt to life for Book Week!

The team created a series of exciting stations inspired by the story, allowing the children to step into the adventure as they moved through the long grass, splashed through the water, squelched through the mud and searched for the bear!

It was wonderful to see the children engaging with the story through sensory play, movement, imagination and exploration.

Our Classroom 6 children had a fantastic learning experience with Cool Kids First Aid!

The children were introduced to important first aid skills in a fun, engaging and age-appropriate way. They explored what to do when someone is hurt, how to seek help, recognising when an adult is needed, and some simple first aid techniques.

It was wonderful to see the children actively participating, asking questions and building their confidence around keeping themselves and others safe.

Our Toddler children enjoyed exploring emergency safety and evacuation procedures after An Nhi brought in a firefighter costume from home.

We talked about different uniforms, listened to the emergency siren and discussed what we should do when we hear the whistle. The children shared their ideas and explored our evacuation bag, emergency vest and safety rope.

A wonderful opportunity to build the children’s safety awareness, confidence and understanding of emergency procedures through meaningful play and conversation.

As part of our Solar System inquiry project, our Kinder children headed to Bayview Park to extend their learning through nature and creativity. 🌿

The children collected sticks and leaves to create their very own Sun, arranging the sticks to represent the Sun’s rays and the leaves to create its centre.

A wonderful hands-on experience connecting our solar system learning with nature, creativity and collaboration!

Today our Classrooms 4 and 5 children took part in our monthly emergency drill, where educator Abira pretended to have a head injury.

Our children impressed us with their knowledge, confidence and caring nature. They quickly remembered to call 000, helped find the first aid kit, suggested wearing gloves, and shared thoughtful ideas about how doctors and paramedics can help someone who is hurt.

This experience linked beautifully with our Community Helpers inquiry project, giving the children an opportunity to apply their learning in a meaningful, real-life scenario. We are so proud of the empathy, teamwork and problem-solving skills they demonstrated throughout the drill.
