Hello there fitness lovers!
I hope you are enjoying this rainy Australia day, in the warm and toasty comfort of your home!
As always, excited to bring some new content today, to help all us fit in some healthy and fun movement whatever the weather, rain or shine!
So today, we have myself going through the side plank.
This exercise is great for:
- Toning up those side love handles we may have worked up during lockdown! πββοΈπββοΈπ―ββοΈπ―ββοΈ
- Improving posture πππ
- Developing the strength of the trunk and core πͺπͺπ¦΅π¦΅
- Improving balance π€ΈββοΈπ€ΈββοΈπ€ΈββοΈπ€ΈββοΈπ€ΈββοΈπ€ΈββοΈ
As you watch the video from multiple angles I will go over some important technical cues.
1. Lay on your side, adjusting your legs nice and tight together between the heel and toes.
2. Keep a neutral spine and neck, aligning it with the lower portion of the body.
3. Keep the wrist holding yourself up, stocked under the elbow and shoulder joint.
4. Now, to bring it all together, squeeze legs together, inner thighs pinching, sturdy through the arm holding you up and volia!
Hold for 15-30 seconds and aim to increase, provided you can maintain with adequate form!

1. Start with the feet in a wide split stance
2. Keep a neutral spine, maintaining this posture throughout the movement.
3. Ensure knees, are travelling directly over the toes.
4. For added benefit and balance allow the arms to move in sync with the legs.

Having an occasional cheat meal, is a good way to keep you on track with any particular sort of nutritional plan you may be following!
Have something like this in-built can help stem cravings and prevent them from building up in the system, till you end up overindulging later down the track!
In short, better to allow yourself some room for error, till you get the new nutritional habits, locked in your system!

An extra spicy Tuna, olive and cottage cheese salad with some Cayenne pepper thrown in for a bit of metabolic kick!
We got vitamin C, Vitamin K, calcium, lycopene, protein and starchy carbs (from the greens)
The pepper, has the great double benefit of flavour and health due to Capsaicin which boosts metabolism, great for a midday snooze buster!
