A little taste of the Basque Country has landed in Melbourne!

Renowned Melbourne restaurateur, Andrew McConnell recently opened Côte Basque on Crossley St (a quick 1km walk from El Patio's CBD centre ☺️), inspired by the stretch of Atlantic coast where Spain meets France on the Bay of Biscay.

The restaurant puts traditional wood-fired cooking at its heart with a daily changing menu of seasonal produce, seafood and meat cooked simply over fire.

Think Basque-inspired dishes like txistorra (a Basque pork sausage), ttoro (a traditional rich fish stew) and flores fritas (a delicate, crispy flower-shaped pastry commonly eaten over Holy Week in Spain).

El Patio Brunswick is moving into its very own home at 573 Sydney Rd!

We've been lucky enough to call Balam Balam Place home for our Brunswick classes since February but now we've outgrown the nest and it's time to embrace a new chapter!

Our Brunswick classes will continue at Balam Balam Place until the end of Term 3 (Wednesday 23 September).

The highly anticipated One Hundred Years of Solitude - Part 2 has landed on Netflix with a feature-length grand finale to premiere on 26 August! Below is a little taste of what's to come 👀

After the armistice and signing of the treaty of Neerlandia, peace still does not reach Macondo. The Conservatives, fearful of Colonel Aureliano Buendía’s threats, plot an attack that by a twist of fate brings Fernanda del Carpio from Bogotá to the town. When she marries Aureliano Segundo, one of the bastard Arcadio’s untameable twin sons, she gives Úrsula Iguarán her first legitimate heirs.

Meanwhile, the other twin, José Arcardo Segundo, absorbed in José Arcadio Buendía’s manuscripts accomplishes the patriarch’s wild dreams of connecting Macondo with the world.
