Congratulations to our commercial cookery student Zetong Zhang (Alexis), on an incredible achievement! 🎉

Alexis has won the Australian Culinary Federation (ACF) 2026 National Apprentice Competition, earning the prestigious title of 2026 Culinary Student Champion 🥇

Competing at Fine Foods Australia in Melbourne, Alexis sees this achievement as another exciting step in her culinary journey. “This achievement is not just about winning a title. It is the start of the next stage of my development as a chef. I want to continue improving my skills, gaining more experience and learning from different chefs and environments.”

As she prepared for the competition, Alexis was grateful for the support and guidance of her Angliss trainers. “Thank you to Chef Abhishek for encouraging me to enter the competition, Chef Antonio for helping me refine and present my dishes and Chef Alex for believing in my potential.”

As the world's biggest skills competition is only 30 days away, Australia's Restaurant Service Skillaroo, Gemma Scott, is putting the finishing touches on her preparation to take on the world's best.

A graduate of the Angliss Certificate III in Hospitality and Diploma of Hospitality Management, Gemma shares some of her training highlights and offers advice for anyone passionate about a career in hospitality as she prepares to represent Australia on the international stage.

🏆 Congratulations to our outstanding commercial cookery students!

Angliss students achieved exceptional results at the 2026 AUS-TAFE Culinary Trophy State Finals, taking home three Gold Medals, one Silver Medal and the prestigious Overall State Champion title.

A special congratulations to Zetong Zhang (Alexis), who was named Best Culinary Student and Overall State Champion.

"Winning the Gold Medal was already a huge honour, but then being named Best Culinary Student and State Champion made all the hard work, preparation and dedication worthwhile." - Alexis

Congratulations to Team Angliss!

🥉Master of Hospitality Entrepreneurship student Rita Li Yu Yang and Master of International Hotel Leadership student Napat Bunnag have been awarded third place in the 2026 VTIC Student Entrepreneurial Award.

💡Their idea, Gateway APAC is an AI-tourism marketing intermediary designed to help Victorian tourism small and medium enterprises (SMEs) increase their visibility in key Asian markets.

The competition showcased an outstanding standard of business ideas, with all participants recognised for the quality of their business cases and presentations.

We're proud to see our students recognised for their innovation, entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to shaping the future of Victoria's visitor economy. Congratulations on this fantastic achievement!
