HELPING GIRLS THRIVE FOR ALMOST 125 YEARS

Shelford is a small, welcoming school with an outstanding academic tradition and a genuine sense of community. We believe our extraordinary care helps create extraordinary girls. Our students thrive in an environment that nurtures, stimulates and challenges them. Where they are encouraged to stay curious and be courageous. NURTURING AND CHALLENGING

High

standards and the pursuit of excellence are core to the fabric of the School. From day one our students are encouraged to harness their passions and develop lifelong interests. With our small class sizes, teachers really get to know each student, individually nurturing them so they develop to the best of their potential. EDUCATION FOR THE MODERN WORLD

Shelford offers exceptional Visual and Performing Arts programs, extensive sporting opportunities and a strong co-curricular program that includes study tours and camps, debating and a unique Year 9 Challenge program. Academic ability is important for future success. However it’s just as important to foster and teach the mindset students will need to flourish in the future, as demand for innovation, creativity, communication, empathy, adaptability and social skills continues to grow.

Where have the last 20 years gone!?!?

Robyn, Helen, Jill and I attended the Dixon House Launch recently at CGS.
It was such a vibrant and enthusiastic evening.

We appreciate Dixon's motto of "Courage and Determination." However, we were encouraged by the students' speeches mentioning kindness, compassion and commitment. Also, inclusion and making sure other students are seen and heard.

Miss Emily Dixon must have been a strong woman for her time to start a girl's school in 1898 when their education was not considered important.

Happy to hear that Dixon has done so well so far this year. Go Dixon!

Caulfield Grammar musical of "Beauty and the Beast".

There was an air of vibrancy and excitement in the crowd while parents, siblings, Staff and guests mingled.

The auditorium is an impressive fully fitted theatre.

The cast was huge with about 90 students from Year 7 to Year 12 including the main actors, all the chorus, ballet and tap dancers plus stage workers.
The talent of the cast was amazing. Gaston was a fun actor and good dancer. The "Beast" was also a fine actor and singer. The leading lady "Belle" was extraordinary. With her singing and acting- she has a bright future ahead of her on stage. The leading couple make a handsome pair.

The costumes were stunning. Remember the candlestick, the clock, the teapot and the cup? The sets were clever and attractive too. Some were made at CGS.

It was really enjoyable to see such amazing talent. What a joyful evening!

1986 Reunion - Big 40th Anniversary!
What a fun bunch of energetic and vivacious Girls!
Such hilarious conversations. But the recurring themes were remembering our warm community of Shelford and that there was no mention at all of what Girls cannot do!

Last Friday night, we celebrated the Year of 2016 at the Brix Bar. There was plenty of laughter and excitement as everyone reconnected, and before long the room was buzzing with chatter. Shelford memorabilia and Year 7 photos sparked nostalgia and plenty of giggles. What a bright, confident group these Shelford women are!

Shelford Film Night - Devil Wears Prada 2

On opening night, the Shelford Alumnae gathered for the premiere screening of The Devil Wears Prada 2, filling one of the theatres at the Palace Brighton (formerly the Dendy Brighton).

Guests enjoyed canapés and drinks beforehand, and it was wonderful to see such a broad mix of generations coming together for the evening. The sequel was stylish, witty and just as entertaining 20 years on — much like the Alumnae themselves!
