Thank you to Glen from Wattletree Beekeeping who visited our Carrum Downs kinder room today with his observation hive. The children learned about pollination, hive life, honeycomb and even got to taste some fresh honey. 🍯 🐝

Big thanks to Frankston Police Station for visiting our Carrum Downs friends today! 👮‍♂️🚔

A huge shoutout to Matthew, one of our amazing dads, who organised this incredible incursion for our little learners. The children got to check out the police car, learn about community safety, and meet some real life heroes.

Thank you for showing our children what it means to serve and protect our community. 💙

We have had a few fluffy friends and eggs join us. Over the next two weeks more chicks will hatch as our children extend their interest in animals and life cycles. 🐣🐓

Our children have been exploring Aboriginal symbols and learning where they come from, what they represent, and creating their own versions on cardboard.

Each child chose a symbol that interested them and drew it in their own way.

As part of our Superhero Week, we’re proud to be supporting Bear Cottage.

We’re raising funds to help support the incredible care and services Bear Cottage provides to children with life-limiting illnesses, and their families.

As part of our learning during DeafBlindness Awareness Week, our Nursery 2 educator, Ashwini, created a tactile Braille alphabet using a hot glue gun, giving children the opportunity to explore and experience an alternative way of reading and communicating.

Through hands on investigation, the children used their sense of touch to feel the raised dots and learn how letters can be represented in Braille. This experience encouraged curiosity, empathy, inclusion, and an understanding that people communicate and access information in different ways.

By engaging in meaningful sensory learning experiences, children develop awareness, respect, and appreciation for the diverse abilities within our community. 💛

🚑❤️ Thank a First Responder Day ❤️🚑

On Wednesday 10 June, our children took time to learn about the important role first responders play in keeping our community safe and supported.

Our Toddler 1 children explored how paramedics help care for people when they are sick or injured. Through nurturing play experiences, the children cared for baby dolls using medical resources, developing empathy, kindness and an understanding of helping others.

Our Toddler 3 children worked together to create a colourful banner to thank our first responders. Through painting and collaborative artwork, the children shared their appreciation for the everyday heroes who help and support our community.

A big thank you to all first responders for the care, courage and dedication you show each and every day. ❤️
