Bush Kindy 🍂
The Pre-Kindy children ventured off to Bush Kindy! The children used glue sticks to create their own trees by pasting natural materials onto templates. Despite the windy weather 🌬️, they stayed focused and enjoyed the creative experience. As the park became crowded, we moved to the oval for more space. To ensure safety, cones were placed to mark boundaries, and children were reminded to stay within the area. 🚨 They had a great time playing active games like Zombie Chase 🧟, Tag 🖐️, and a running circle game; supporting teamwork, movement, and lots of fun!

KidsRoar Incursion 🐯
Last week we had a special visit from Bec at KidsRoar to talk about body safety. KidsRoar provides age-appropriate personal safety education to help reduce the risk of abuse through early intervention. 💚

Bec spoke with the children about recognising their feelings, understanding safe and unsafe behaviour, and learning the correct names for private body parts. She explained that private parts are just for us and should only be seen or touched for good reasons, like when we're sick or need help. 🤒

The children also learned to recognise body signals that tell us something doesn't feel right, like a sore tummy or fast heartbeat. They practiced saying, “Stop! I don’t like it!” and were reminded to tell a safe adult if they ever feel uncomfortable. 🫂

Rhyme Time Excursion 🎵
Our Nursery 2 children ventured to their Rhyme Time excursion again at Broadmeadows library. The children enjoyed browsing through books and discovering the many exciting things around the library. Once it was time, they gathered on the mat, ready to join in. The children eagerly participated in familiar songs such as The ABCs, Five Little Ducks, and Shake Your Sillies Out, clapping and singing along with big smiles on their faces. To finish the session, they used shaker eggs to play along to the beat and watched in delight as bubbles floated through the air, bringing lots of laughter and joy to the group. It was a fun and interactive session that supported language development, rhythm awareness, and social engagement. 🤍

Building Fine Motor Skills ✨
The Toddler room participated in an experience that was designed to support the development of fine motor skills, colour recognition, and hand-eye coordination. 👀
The children used tongs to carefully pick up colourful pompoms and place them onto matching coloured placemats. 🤍
They participated with great concentration and enthusiasm, demonstrating excitement and pride as they successfully matched each pompom to its correct colour.

Coloured Water & Oil Experiment 🧪
Our Junior Kindy children explored science through a colourful water and oil activity! 🧪
They were eager to join as soon as the setup was ready. After a group discussion about the materials and steps, the children chose food colouring and mixed it into water. 🤍
Using droppers, they added the coloured water into cups of oil and observed how the droplets sank and formed colourful bubbles. 🫧
As more drops were added, the bubbles grew and gathered at the bottom—creating a fun and fascinating sensory experience!
