Oily Tuesdays is back and this time it’s portraits.

The slow drying time of oil paints gives you a chance to think, to reflect, and play. In this workshop we’ll be working on the one painting for three sessions. We’ll be using the Zorn palette which allows for lots of colour mixing without getting confused by too many options.

Start your week off right and have a play in the Primary Colours studio.

These casual sessions have been a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours on a Monday evening. Listen to some tunes, have a chat, make stuff.

Mindful Mondays is a semi structured drop in open studio type situation. You are free to explore whatever you like and I will be there to offer as much, or as little guidance as required.

Try it out. No contracts, no pressure, just energising art play.

We’re taking a break from the oils in September and enjoying the instant gratification of acrylic paints.

This promises to be a fun short course. Each week we will work on a new painting: still life, portraiture, landscape and abstract. Four weeks in total and only $200 all inclusive.

Oily Tuesdays are going to get real real gone in September. We are about to explore the intimate, and expressive world, of abstract painting.

Abstract painting is the trickiest of all the subject matters because it is so personal…and subjective. Everyone has an opinion on it and they ain’t scared to share it.

What is this meant to be?
How do you know if it’s any good?
What does it mean?
When do I know if it’s finished?

Anyway, the debate on abstract art is as relevant today as it ever was. It’s a line in the sand and I know what side I stand on. Maybe you feel the same way and would like to join me.

Like all of the other Oily Tuesday short courses it’s $150 no more to pay. All materials are included and you get to hang out with a wonderful group of like minded individuals and explore the world of oil painting together. It’s a good time, believe me.

With the weather getting warmer everyone’s in good spirits so why not celebrate with some fun Art Activities at the Primary Colours studio. Let us plan the day with you so you can relax and enjoy the fun.

Oily Tuesdays starts up again in August and this time we’re doing landscapes!

$150 is all it costs for this three week short course where you’ll get an introduction to the peaceful art of oil painting. All materials are supplied including a stretched canvas that you’ll hopefully hang upon your wall once you’ve finished.

This short course is a great way to decompress for the hurdy gurdy of city life. Do yourself a favour and join us.

Dear Art lovers, I present to you another wonderful mini exhibition at Primary Colours.

Monuments showcases spontaneous constructions utilising preloved and abandoned toys. Created by the students these whimsical pieces breathe new life into forgotten playthings.

One week only at the Primary Colours studio. Monday to Thursday from 4pm and Saturday from 10am.
