Growing plants, growing language, one little seed at a time.
Connecting language with real-life experiences helps children understand that learning can happen in so many different ways. As they explore how a tiny seed grows and changes, they are also building their Italian vocabulary naturally through play, conversation and repetition.

Charcoal drawing has stood the test of time for hundreds of years. Long before pencils and markers, artists used charcoal made from burnt wood to create beautiful pictures. Today, children can explore this natural and sustainable art material, discovering how it can create soft textures, dark shadows, and amazing details. By using charcoal, children connect with an art form that has inspired creativity for generations while learning that simple, natural resources can be transformed into something beautiful.
Today our mud kitchen was filled with the wonderful scents of nature as children explored cinnamon sticks, oregano, cloves, fresh oranges and lemons.
Using pestles and mortars, they crushed, mashed, squeezed and mixed their own unique potions, discovering how different ingredients look, smell and feel. These open-ended experiences encouraged creativity, sensory exploration, scientific thinking and fine motor development while inspiring rich conversations and imaginative play.
Sometimes the simplest natural resources create the most meaningful learning. 🌿🍊🍋✨
