🌲In 1911, an unusual earthquake caused a gigantic limestone landslide within Kolsay Lakes National Park.
🌲As a result, a huge natural dam was created and later filled with mountain river water, giving birth to Kaindy Lake.
🌲The most unusual thing is that the trees that got submerged in the lake, kept on living under the water. You can see their bare bleached stems above water.

🍂The "waterfall" effect is created by a slope in the island's shore, which gradually increases to a 2.5-mile drop.
🍂The "waterfall" is an optical illusion. The sand and silt deposits in the slope look like water is flowing down a mountain.

🏖️Location: Takitomi, Hatoma, and Iriomote Island in Japan.
🏖️The sand in these beaches has thousands of miniature tests (shells) that are produced by an organism called Foraminifera.
🏖️It is a microscopic unicellular creature, that leaves its shells behind when they die. The ocean waves then wash them ashore.
🏖️Foraminifera - the star-shaped organism - is only found in the corals of East Asia.
🏖️Despite their small size, if you look closer, you can still see the star sand with your naked eyes.
🏖️Even though the shell is created after the animal is dead, the scientists love to call these, the "Living Sand".

🌈Red iron oxide is a valuable mineral used for industrial purposes such as cosmetics, glass, and ceramic, etc.
🌈Also, people on this island, use it as a spice when cooking.
🌈Hormoz Island has more than 70 different minerals that give its soil 70 different shades of colors, hence, the name the "Rainbow Island".
