That’s right! our 2027 production (to be announced 👀) will be taking place in the Gippsland Latrobe Valley region!

We’re also excited to share that we’ve already secured our rehearsal venue. We can’t reveal too much just yet, but trust us… it’s going to be worth the wait.

MISCAST Musicals is a celebration of creativity, talent, and the unexpected. In this unique musical theatre event, performers step into roles they would never traditionally be cast to play whether it’s because of age, gender, vocal type, or appearance.

From beloved Broadway classics to modern musical hits, you’ll see familiar songs performed with fresh interpretations, surprising casting choices, and plenty of heart. It’s an evening that challenges expectations, showcases incredible local talent, and reminds us that great performances aren’t defined by typecasting. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or simply love musical theatre, everyone is welcome to take part!

Introducing Riley Ahlers as Rodger ⭐️

Riley is thrilled to be performing his original musical Write Me A Song. A passionate musical theatre performer, Riley draws inspiration from Andrew Lloyd Webber, In April, Riley travelled to Sydney to attend Artist Lab’s Agency professional workshop, Musicals of Andrew Lloyd Webber, working closely with leading industry professionals from Australian theatre, Opera Australia, Broadway and the West End. Riley is a proud member of the MEAA, Riley is committed to ongoing professional development and excellence in the performing arts, continually refining craft, discipline, and artistry.

Riley cannot wait for you tear his original music songs include Where Angels Fly, Country Rhythm, I was just a little boy and more of Riley’s Original songs.

Something very special is coming to the stage in Drouin…

Write ME A Song is an original one-person musical written by our director, Riley Ahlers.

Featuring a unique and heartfelt story, with all songs and the story written by Riley Ahlers, this brand-new production is one you won’t want to miss.

More information, including performance dates and ticket details, will be announced soon.

We can’t wait to share this exciting new musical with you all!

Story break down:

Write Me a Song is a one-person musical about Rodger, a young songwriter chasing his dream of making music.

In Act 1, Rodger struggles to find his voice as a writer while exploring his love of music, his childhood memories, and his dream of performing in a band. His imagination brings his world to life as he builds confidence and creativity. The act ends with a phone call from a long-lost friend that changes everything.

In Act 2, Rodger’s life takes a difficult turn as he faces serious personal challenges. He uses music to process what is happening, reconnects with his past, and reflects on his life, friendship, and dreams.

As the story comes to a close, Rodger finds meaning and peace through the songs he has created.
