What a great day at the 2026 VETQI Summit.

We were proud to be one of the sponsors and to spend the day connecting with so many people across the VET sector. There were plenty of great conversations, shared experiences and insights throughout the day.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to chat with the RTO Works team. It was great to catch up and meet some new faces along the way.

A few of our key takeaways:
• The sector is rapidly evolving and becoming digitised.
• RTOs need to start rethinking assessment and how AI will be used to support staff.
• With the roll out of the new cost recovery fee schedule – to be non-compliant will be very expensive for RTOs. Message from ASQA – it is cheaper to be compliant.
• Assessment is still the most common non-compliance in regulation activities
• Digital capability must be assessed as part of your LLND process, it is more important than ever.
• RTO staff must know their roles – ensure they are aware of their position descriptions and duties. It is not just the CEO who is the gatekeeper of all knowledge and tasks.

Days like this are a great reminder of how valuable it is to stay connected and keep learning from each other.

English Placement Test (EPT)
A comprehensive assessment covering reading, grammar, and listening skills, aligned with CEFR levels. It can be embedded into your current LMS and completed by students fully online.

Speaking and Writing Add-On
An add-on to assess speaking and writing skills to complement the EPT.
