Wellbeing Day at UC 🧡

Our students stepped away from the usual classroom routine for a day dedicated to connection, creativity, movement and wellbeing.

🧠 Mindfulness & Wellbeing – Better Brains joined us to run engaging mindful activities, giving students opportunities to slow down, reset and explore strategies to support their wellbeing.

🎤 Dance & Karaoke – Plenty of energy (and some impressive performances!) in our guided dancing and karaoke room.

🥣 Sound Bowls – A chance to switch off, relax and experience the calming sounds and vibrations of a guided sound bowl session.

🎶 Music Room - Students had the opportunity to pick up a new instrument and learn the basics together in a guided and fun way

🎮 Gaming Room – Students connected, competed and enjoyed some downtime together.

🌏 Around the World Through Food – Each Year 10 class selected a country, planned its cuisine and worked together to cook and share their creations.

It was fantastic to see students getting involved, trying something different and connecting with each other in so many ways.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make our Urban College Wellbeing Day such a memorable experience! 💙

💛 R U OK? Day 2026 💛

Today is a reminder that a simple question can make a big difference.

Take a moment to check in with the people around you - your friends, classmates, colleagues, family and yourself.

👂 Ask
💬 Listen
💛 Encourage
🤝 Follow up

You never know what someone might be going through, and sometimes the most important thing we can do is simply let someone know they’re not alone.

R U OK? 💛

How do you check in on a mate?
Sometimes a simple “Are you okay?” can mean a lot.
💬 What’s your go-to way of checking in on a friend when they don’t seem themselves?
Share your words, tips or ways you show someone you care.

Ask R U OK? Any Day because a conversation could change a life.
You might be surprised to learn that many people underestimate the power of an R U OK? Conversation.

Regular, meaningful conversations with the people close to you can help prevent small things from becoming big things. By checking in regularly, you build trust and normalise talking about what’s really going on, so when the people in your world find themselves struggling, they know you’re som...

Three of our Year 10 students, Georgia, Ava and Harrison, are participating in Lifeline’s Out of the Shadows Walk 2026 to help raise funds for su***de prevention on the 10th of September.

We’re proud to see our students getting involved in something that can make a genuine difference in the lives of others.

Urban College is supporting their fundraising efforts with a donation, and we’d love to invite our wider community to support them as well via this link:

We were incredibly fortunate to welcome Courtney Ugle to our Boronia campus, where she shared her truly inspiring story with our students.
