🐞 Minibeast Exploration in Our Nursery Room 🐞
Our curious little learners have been busy exploring the wonderful world of minibeasts! Through hands-on play, books, magnifying glasses, puzzles, and natural materials, children are discovering different insects and bugs while developing their observation, language, and fine motor skills.

This engaging learning space encourages children to investigate, ask questions, and build an appreciation for the tiny creatures that share our environment. 🌿🦋🐞

Reconciliation Week is here (27 May to 3 June)

This year’s theme, “All In”, reminds us that reconciliation is something we all take part in. It is about learning, showing respect, and making positive change together every day.

Across the week, children are taking part in learning experiences that deepen their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and contributions, and help us reflect on how we can all play a part in reconciliation.

Let’s learn, listen and walk forward together.

📞 ⛑️ 🩹 Our 3 and 4 year old kinder children had a visit by St John Ambulance Victoria, who delivered a fun and interactive first aid session for the children.
The children learned what first aid is, explored different types of bandaids, and enjoyed the story “The Day Johney Bear Became a Superstar”, where they discussed how to recognise emergencies and ask for help.
They then practiced applying bandaids on each other, enjoying lots of teamwork and care. The session finished with learning about emergency number 000 and practising how to call for help.
A hands-on, engaging experience full of learning and confidence-building. 📞 ⛑️ 🩹

🪴 ☀️ 💦 Connection to Nature 🌱 🪴 ☀️ 💦

The kinder children continued our garden project by planting rosemary, succulents, and strawberry seedlings. As they explored the plants, they used their senses to notice different textures, colours, and scents, especially the strong smell of the rosemary.

Through meaningful discussions, the children compared similarities and differences between the plants, building their early scientific thinking, observation skills, and connection to the natural world. 🌿

On Thursday night, our whole centre came together for training focused on understanding children’s behaviour and how we can best support children through meaningful and responsive practices.

The session was presented by our Child and Family Practitioner, Amy, and provided our educators with valuable knowledge, strategies, and reflections to continue strengthening the support we provide to children and families every day 🤍
