BUT DO-NUT fear I have very quickly pivoted to ensure you can always get your OMG! Donuts Fix - you're welcome!

And so it's fitting, as we come into the Father's Day weekend, that my
OMG Decadent Donuts Casey
Spitfire Vintage Caravans food trailer is getting fully dressed today and pride of place is the TP Logo naming my van Tenacious Pete after my dad who passed away imn June, fighting til the end.
Dad went into the National Service Air Force as a young adult in the 50s at Point Cook and we now very proudly have his 'Nasho' photos on display at home.
My sister said it best in her poem conceived during dad's last days in hospital and emblematic of his tenacious spirit...
FOR DAD
While Dad lies here so quiet and still,
I sit and think about his wondrous will

Not at all about the financial kind,
but about his spirit and stubborn mind.

Dad loved the heroes of World War 2,
Spitfire pilots and Lancaster crew.

And Dad was a fighter sure and strong,
He faced his battles though they were long.

As each one came as a fresh gr***de,
Dad fought on and was so brave.

'It won't get me", Dad woudl say,
"A positive mind will save the day."

Dad was our hero, he fought the good fight,
he said, "Play a straight bat and she;ll be right."

Be loyal and true was Dad's great mantra,
Over and out, courageous Wing Commander!

Oh, and just before I lay down my pen,
I ask you Dad for a sign to send.
Put in a word for a Pie's Grand Final win,
And we'll know that you're up there
With a big healthy grin.

Tenacious as a lion, stubborn as a mule, a gregarious showman, master organiser and devoted family man, my father Peter Hartin passed away peacefully with his children around him and my mother singing to him as he drew his last breath.

He showed me the dignity of fighting with everything he had and never giving in - not only batting back cancers and other ailments for 32 years but fighting the rights of those less advantaged.
He was a strong advocate for our education, something I proudly went on to make a local and international career out of - I am who I am today thanks to the example of my dad.

DONUTS & DISCOVERY is an event where EVERYONE gets involved from Problem Owners to Roving Refs and everything in-between.
Gabby fills these roles from the audience and through her Game Master’s magic touch, RGPs and RGQs come to life! (Join the event to find out more!)
