STORIES COME TO LIFE: Book Week is a celebration of the stories, characters and adventures that spark our imaginations. This year, our little niños and team stepped into the pages of their favourite books by dressing up as much-loved characters.

From familiar favourites to new ones, the centre was filled with colour, creativity and plenty of fun. It was lovely to see children and educators sharing in the joy of storytelling and celebrating the books that inspire us.

SHINING A LIGHT ON SCIENCE: National Science Week provided an opportunity for our little niños to explore the world around them through curiosity, observation and experimentation.

One investigation focused on the behaviour of shadows. Using different objects and light sources, the children explored how changes in position and distance influenced the shape, size and movement of shadows.

Through this experience, the children engaged with early scientific concepts including light, movement and cause and effect, while developing their ability to observe closely, form predictions and test their ideas.

UP CLOSE & WILD: The little niños were captivated by a centre-wide wildlife incursion, bringing the wonder of native Australian animals directly into their learning environment.

This hands-on encounter allowed the children to gently interact with reptiles, mammals, and birds while developing a deeper understanding of animal characteristics, habitats, life cycles, and behaviours.

More than just a fun experience, the incursion nurtured curiosity, empathy, and respect for living things, reflecting the foundations of our inquiry-based approach to learning.

DANCING FOR A DIFFERENCE: What better way to come together for a great cause than with a whole lot of music, movement, and fun? Our centre was transformed into a dance floor as we hosted a special disco to raise funds for the Alannah & Madeline Foundation.

With plenty of dancing, laughter, and colourful disco spirit, our little niños enjoyed a fun-filled celebration while supporting an important cause.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and helped make the day so special. If you'd like to support this meaningful cause, donations are still welcome » tinyurl.com/y32hk7xu

CULTURE, COUNTRY & CONNECTION: Our kindergarten children have been exploring Indigenous Australian culture through their Term project, creating opportunities to listen, reflect, ask questions and deepen their understanding of the world around them.

Through stories, discussions and hands-on exploration, the children are learning about the importance of Country, culture, community and the deep connection First Nations Peoples have with the land.

As they continue their learning journey, our little niños are developing respect, curiosity and a stronger appreciation for Australia’s rich Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and traditions.

LIGHTING UP LEARNING: A world of colour, light, and discovery came to life through an engaging light box sensory experience designed to spark wonder and investigation.

This little niño used a variety of translucent materials in vibrant hues to observe how light shines through different objects, creating striking patterns, changing shades, and revealing new perspectives. The activity provided the little niños in the room with the opportunity to explore how light influences what we see, encouraging early scientific thinking and a deeper understanding of cause and effect.

RECYCLE, REUSE, REIMAGINE: Caring for our planet starts with small choices we make every day, and our Kindergarten children discovered just how powerful those choices can be during a fun and interactive visit from ‘Recycleman’.

Through games, discussions, and immersive learning, the little niños explored the importance of recycling, where our rubbish goes, what can be reused, and how simple everyday actions can make a positive impact on the environment.

This experience encouraged the children to demonstrate the character strength of perspective - as they considered how their choices affect the world around them; hope - as they shared ideas for protecting our planet; and teamwork - as they learned, participated, and problem-solved together.

A PINCH OF IMAGINATION: Creativity, curiosity, and imagination came together as one of our Kindergarten niños immersed themselves in the wonder of mud kitchen play.

Mixing, pouring, and experimenting with natural materials, they transformed simple ingredients into imaginative creations while exploring their own ideas and discoveries. Along the way, they built confidence, strengthened problem-solving and communication skills, and experienced the joy of learning through open-ended outdoor play.

Moments like these encourage children to connect with nature, express their creativity, and follow their curiosity—turning everyday play into meaningful learning.

HAIR-RAISING FUN: Wild colours, wacky styles, and plenty of smiles filled our centre as our little niños and team came together for Crazy Hair Day in support of the Alannah & Madeline Foundation.

From colourful curls to gravity-defying creations, everyone embraced the fun while helping raise funds for an organisation dedicated to protecting children from violence and supporting those impacted by trauma.

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful families and educators who joined in and helped make the day such a vibrant celebration.

THE SOUND OF LEARNING: This week, our little niños are exploring one of the five senses: sound. Through rich musical experiences, they are discovering how sound is created, how it changes, and the many ways it can be expressed.

As they explore a variety of instruments, experiment with rhythm and melody, and make music together, the children are developing listening, communication, coordination, and creative expression. Each opportunity invites them to observe, predict, and respond, building confidence as they discover the language of sound.

Purposeful, hands-on learning deepens children's understanding of the world around them, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and meaningful connections that extend beyond the classroom.
