Hi, I am Nathan, a Melbourne-based opera singer and educator.
These days, I am researching about the role of the human voice in pre and post-natal child development; I believe that every baby thrives when listening to a mother and father sing! (Did you know that babies begin to experience and hear voices from 16-weeks in utero?)
Do you think singing in the family home is worthwhile? Are lullabies still needed today?
I would love to learn more about your experience. If you feel strongly about our aim, please fill out our 5-minute survey. https://forms.gle/Py2n2UF4eMrTvFac9
Listening to the voice of expecting mums and dads, midwives, parents and educators is important to us; Kindly help us spread the word with a friend or family member you know with young child.
Not a problem if not. Thank you for your support and encouragement thus far. May your voice be heard,
Nathan Camilleri

Music meets our heart, hands and mind.
Slowed down, a sustained harmonic Fifth transforms into rhythm. Remarkably, harmonic Tones may thus be ossified into Rhythm. One often experiences a grounding quality in rhythm; It may be felt as a call to work, movement or dance! Finally, we arrive at this wonderfully simple little mathematical expression, 3:2. This musical phenomenon touches our heart, hands and mind.

Today, we are gifted with many musical systems. Here is one configuration which in the West became popular from the 16th Century. So what do we see? Well, lots of tones! There arose an impulse to order music mathematically.
Many little steps are packed together. There are 12 equal half-steps within the melodic pattern. In order to descend from the first floor to the ground floor, one may descend 12 colourful little steps down the Tone Staircase. Fusing Greek and Latin together, musicians call this experience the Chromatic Scale, "The Colourful Staircase."
