New networks and connections were formed among those who were available to attend the event.

Secondary School Preparation for Years 5 and 6

Does your child have gaps in reading, writing and basic number and mathematical skills that are preventing them from reaching their full potential in English and Mathematics? We are specialists in addressing the top concern held by an increasing number of parents like yourself: many children do not have a solid grasp of the fundamental basic skills in English and Mathematics.
In 2024, we will be offering small group secondary school preparation masterclasses targeted at current Years 5 and 6 students, ensuring they commence secondary schooling in Year 7 with the solid foundational skills in English and Mathematics.

🧑🏻‍🏫 WHO ARE WE?

Our tutors consist of high-performing school teachers and top ATAR-achieving VCE graduates. The team is led by our founder and director, who is a teacher and leader with a proven track record in producing strong student academic results across a number of top private schools in Melbourne. Our tutors hold either the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration or a Working with Children Check (WCC). We are also one of the few tutoring providers in Australia that is qualified by an industry-based certification endorsed by the Australian Tutoring Association (ATA).

📚 WHAT WILL THE MASTERCLASSES INCLUDE?

Our focus will be on teaching, revising, and consolidating the core knowledge and skills that we deem are absolutely fundamental for Year 7 English and Mathematics. For English, these include but are not limited to reading/ text comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, and writing skills. For Mathematics, a heavier emphasis will be placed on mental maths and automatic response, number and place value, the four operations, fractions, decimals, and measurement.

🗓 WHEN AND WHERE WILL THE MASTERCLASSES RUN?

Masterclasses will run on a weekly basis on most weeks during school terms. For face-to-face masterclasses, a location within the City of Monash based on the expressions of interest received will be confirmed closer to the commencement of Term 1, 2024.
