💙 Celebrating the Special People in Our Lives 💙

We had a beautiful time celebrating Father’s Day at Nido Essendon with a special afternoon tea, creative activities and lots of wonderful moments shared together. 🥰

Our children enjoyed getting creative with Father’s Day arts and crafts, making special treasures to take home for the important people in their lives. 🎨✨

It was so lovely to welcome our dads, granddads, stepdads, uncles and special people into our service to celebrate the love, support and special memories they create with our children every day. 💙

Thank you for joining us and making the afternoon so special. We hope you enjoyed the afternoon tea and treasured these little moments as much as we did!

To make the day special each educator received a gift as a token of appreciation, along with some delicious treats.

Last week, we celebrated the magic of Book Week and the wonderful world of stories! ❤️

Book Week is a special time to celebrate the joy of reading and the important role books play in children’s learning, imagination and development. Through stories, children can explore new ideas, discover different worlds, build language and empathy, and create memories that stay with them for years to come. 🌈📖

We loved seeing our children share their favourite characters, dress-ups and stories, and most importantly, celebrate their love of books and storytelling together. 💕✨

What a wonderful week we had celebrating Jeans for Genes Day! ✨

A big thank you to all of our amazing children, families and educators who got involved and helped makes the week such a success. It was lovely seeing everyone come together, enjoy the fun and support such an important cause. 💙

Through the generosity of our wonderful childcare community, we raised $166.

🌻Classroom 3 Inspired by Sunflowers 🎨

Over the last few weeks, the children have been exploring the plant life cycle through a range of engaging, hands-on learning experiences.

As part of this journey, they enjoyed a creative art experience inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s famous sunflower paintings. The children closely observed a real sunflower, exploring its different parts and unique textures, before listening to a story about Vincent Van Gogh and his iconic work.

Inspired by what they discover, the children created their own sunflower masterpiece using paint, sunflower petals, leaves, and handprints. They loved experimenting with different colours, textures, and painting techniques while expressing their creativity and collaborating with their peers.

This meaningful sensory experience supported their imagination, fine motor development, and appreciation of both art and nature. We are so proud of their creativity, curiosity, and enthusiasm! 💛🌻

At Nido, our curriculum is guided by our 7 Learning Branches, creating meaningful learning experiences that grow alongside each child.

Infants & Toddlers focus on building secure relationships, developing confidence, exploring through sensory play, and discovering the world around them in a nurturing environment.

Kindergarten builds on these foundations by encouraging independent, critical thinking, early literacy and numeracy, creativity, and school readiness through engaging, play-based learning experiences.

To celebrate our curriculum, we have created a beautiful Curriculum Tree together using natural materials and leaves painted by the children. This display represents the growth, curiosity, and learning that happens every day across our service.

If you’d like to learn more about the Nido Curriculum and our 7 Learning Branches, please take a look at the Curriculum books displayed in the hallway. We encourage all families to explore them and chat with our educators about how your child’s learning journey is supported each day.
