Journey Knoxfield is a warm and friendly early learning centre that inspires adventure and cheer. Our amazing childcare centre provides a nurturing environment filled with curiosity, wonder and joy. It’s a place where children aged from six weeks to six years of age can make a positive start to a life of learning, development, growth and opportunity.

🎾 Game Set Match! 🎾
Our Kinder children had a fantastic time heading down to the local tennis courts for some tennis fun!
We had a go at swinging our racquets, hitting the balls, practicing our coordination and most importantly, having lots of fun and laughs together! 🎾🙌
It was wonderful to see the children encouraging each other, giving new things a go and enjoying being active in our local community. 😊

📚✨ BOOK WEEK 2026! ✨📚
What a wonderful week we have had celebrating the magic of books, stories, imagination and reading! 💕📖
From favourite characters and magical adventures to cosy story times, creative experiences and plenty of dress-up fun, our rooms have been buzzing with excitement all week! 🌈🦸‍♀️🧚‍♂️🐻
Books have taken us on incredible adventures, sparked big imaginations and created so many beautiful opportunities for learning, connection and fun. 💫
We are not quite sure who had more fun..... the children or the educators! 😂💕
A huge thank you to our wonderful educators for embracing the Book Week magic and making it such a memorable week for our children! ❤️

🧪🌈 Science Week Fun! 🌈🧪

What an exciting week of discovery, curiosity and hands-on learning we have had! We had so much fun exploring and experimenting with:

🌋 Volcanic eruptions
🌹 Colour-changing roses
🫧 Body bubbles
💡 Lava lamps
🐘 Elephant’s toothpaste
🎈 Self-inflating balloons
🎨 Magnetic painting
🟢 Oobleck
✨ Fizzy reactions
⚡ Plasma balls

There were lots of “WOW!” moments, big smiles and plenty of questions along the way! We loved watching the children explore how things work, make predictions, test their ideas and discover something new. 🔬💭

What a fantastic Science Week! 💙🧪🌟

🔬✨ SCIENCE WEEK: LIGHT IT UP! ⚡️
The children were mesmerised watching the colourful electric strands dance and move inside our plasma ball. We experimented with touch, movement and observation, making predictions and asking lots of curious questions along the way. 👀💭
“Why does it follow my finger?”
“Is it electricity?”
“Can we make it move faster?” ⚡️🤔 🔮✨
We started with one child placing their hand on the plasma ball and watched closely as the glowing electric strands travelled towards their fingertips. 🔮⚡️
But then came the big question… What happens when we add more hands? 🤔
One by one, the children joined in, making predictions and observing what happened to the glowing strands as more hands connected with the plasma ball. 👋👋👋✨
There were plenty of “WOW!”, “Look!” and “What if we try this?” moments as the children explored cause and effect, made connections and worked together to investigate their theories.
Science is all about wondering, experimenting and discovering! 🧪💡

🌱 Teamwork Makes the Dream Work! 🧹💛

Our wonderful Toddler team have been fostering important life skills by encouraging children to care for and respect their environment. 🌿✨

From helping to tidy up to cleaning the classroom alongside their educators, our toddlers are learning that everyone has an important role to play in keeping our shared spaces happy, safe and welcoming.

These everyday moments encourage independence, responsibility, teamwork and a sense of belonging, all while making learning fun! 🥰

This month, we are shining a spotlight on Child Safe Standard 2 - Children Participate in Decisions Affecting Them and Are Taken Seriously. 💛

At our centre, we believe children have the right to be heard, share their ideas, express their feelings, and have a say in decisions that affect them. 🗣️✨

Throughout our daily routines and learning experiences, we are embedding meaningful opportunities for children to:

🌟 Educator in the Spotlight 🌟 Meet Nethmi

With 2 years of experience in the early childhood sector and a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Nethmi is passionate about creating a warm, supportive environment where every child feels safe, valued, and encouraged to learn.
Nethmi's favourite part of being an educator is building meaningful relationships with children and having the opportunity to guide and support them through the incredibly important early years of their development. Watching children grow in confidence, discover new skills, and celebrate their achievements each day is what makes this career so rewarding. 🌱✨
When Nethmi is not at the centre, she enjoys spending quality time with her partner and friends, as well as keeping connected with family through regular video calls. ❤️
We are so grateful to have such a kind, dedicated, and passionate educator as part of the Journey Early Learning Knoxfield team.
