Last week, the children in our toddlers room took part in a beautiful Reconciliation Day experience, creating vibrant handprints using Aboriginal colours.
The educator role modelled the activity, demonstrating how to paint and print a hand, which encouraged the children to confidently engage and participate. The children selected their own colours, patiently waited for their turn, and enjoyed exploring the textures and process of painting.
Throughout the experience, meaningful conversations were shared about Reconciliation Day and the significance of the colours used, helping to build awareness and understanding in an age-appropriate way.

Our children have been engaging in daily learning experiences exploring Aboriginal culture and the meaning behind the Aboriginal flag. Through discussions, art and intentional teaching, children have been learning about the significance of the colours while building respect and appreciation for Australia’s First Peoples. 🖤💛❤️
Using painting and visual learning experiences, children expressed their ideas creatively while educators supported learning through open-ended conversations, active listening and inquiry-based discussions.

What a wonderful morning of interactive learning and storytelling! During group time, the children explored The Very Hungry Caterpillar through a hands-on felt board experience, enthusiastically naming the characters and predicting which fruits the caterpillar would eat next. It was fantastic to see their strong recall, language development, and growing understanding of healthy and sometimes foods. The learning continued with 5 Green Speckled Frogs, where the children eagerly used the felt pieces to practise counting up to 5 and back down again. Experiences like these help foster confidence, communication skills, early numeracy, and a genuine love for learning through play.

Last week the children enjoyed a wonderful incursion with Rina from City West Water, where they learnt about how water is collected, treated and reused in parks and gardens. Through interactive games and discussions, the children explored the many ways we use water every day and the importance of keeping it clean and not wasting it. They also learnt about recycling water, sustainability and caring for the environment in fun and meaningful ways.

Painting experiences are something we regularly provide for our babies, encouraging creativity, sensory exploration and self-expression from an early age. Through colours, textures and hands-on experiences, our little learners continue to build confidence, fine motor skills and curiosity while having lots of fun creating their own masterpieces. 🎨

Yesterday, our 3-Year-Old Kinder children celebrated International Nurses Day by learning about the important role nurses play in caring for our community. After sharing their thoughts during group time, the children created beautiful cards and thank you messages for the nurses at the doctors surgery next door. We then enjoyed a safe community walk together, using our evacuation ropes and looking carefully for traffic, to personally deliver the children’s drawings and some chocolates to thank the nurses for all that they do. The experience was a beautiful way for the children to build community connections, show kindness, and recognise our everyday superheroes 🩺💙
