We are absolutely thrilled to see FIVE of the incredible productions we've worked on this year scoring nominations for the upcoming Logie Awards!

A massive congrats to the crews behind:

We couldnโ€™t be prouder to see these brilliant teams getting nominated. We'll definitely be raising a glass and cheering them on when the big night rolls around!

Much as we'd love to claim some credit for these nominations (!!) it was all down to the creative talents of the teams, and of course our trainees who worked in them!

But, if you want to get your next project in the running for some serious silverware (we wish we were that magic) our CEO, Esther Coleman-Hawkins, is always up for a chat. DM her to chat about how Screen Careers can support your next (award-winning?!) production.

Good luck to everyone up for a Logie!

Itโ€™s hard to believe the Film Friendly workshops have wrapped!

Focused on conversations between permitting officers and locations managers, it was great to see attendees go away excited about filming with ideas about ways to improve the process of film permitting for everyone involved.

With over 280 participants from 82 organisations across Victoria, participants in Traralgon, Geelong, Ballarat, Wangaratta, Melbourne, and online met their fellow permit officers and gained insight to different sides of the process. From trying out equipment in a grip truck to roundtables with location managers and VicScreen, it was great to hear conversations around building relationships, efficient processes and communication.

Weโ€™re excited for the next steps of the conversation with future sessions and upcoming online training courses, and continuing Victoriaโ€™s role as a film friendly production hub.

After a wonderful time with Screen Careers, weโ€™re saying goodbye to Jeanie Davison.

Esther and Denise have worked with Jeanie for many years - first during her time at Screenworks (Australia) and later together at Media Mentors Australia, so itโ€™s been a genuine pleasure to have her as part of the Screen Careers journey during this important stage.

Jeanie brought huge energy, enthusiasm and belief in what weโ€™re building for crew across Australia. She worked tirelessly to champion training, workforce development and stronger career pathways across the industry and has played an important role in the organisation.

Weโ€™re incredibly grateful for everything she has contributed and we wish her all the best for her next role, which will be formally announced in the coming weeks. We know sheโ€™ll bring the same passion, warmth and drive to her new adventure.

As part of some exciting internal growth at Screen Careers, business development will now sit within Estherโ€™s role, alongside expanded responsibilities across the organisation as we continue building the next phase of Screen Careers. Weโ€™ve got some big plans and weโ€™re excited about whatโ€™s next.

Today we recognise Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) - a reminder that accessibility and inclusion should be part of every screen production, workplace, and story we create. ๐ŸŽฌ

Building a more accessible screen industry means creating environments where disabled creatives, crew, and audiences can fully participate both on and off screen.

At Screen Careers, weโ€™re continuing that conversation through our Digital Justice Lens eLearning course, designed to help screen professionals better understand Disability Justice and create more inclusive productions and workplaces.

๐ŸŽ“ Accessible online learning
โฑ Approximately 90 minutes
๐ŸŽฅ Includes practical insights and a few very funny videos along the way

One of the biggest risks on production isnโ€™t lack of talent - itโ€™s unsupported progression.

Across the industry, experienced crew are stepping into senior roles faster than ever. But stepping up without the right support can create pressure for both productions and crew.

Strong leadership doesnโ€™t just happen on set. It needs to be developed before challenges arise.

Stronger supervisors create:

โœ”๏ธ Stronger departments
โœ”๏ธ Safer workflows
โœ”๏ธ Better communication
โœ”๏ธ More sustainable productions

Investing in crew development is investing in the long-term health of the industry.
