Hands-on First Aid Training at Ruby Institute!

Our students recently completed the practical component of HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid, developing essential skills to respond confidently in emergency situations. From CPR and AED use to managing asthma, anaphylaxis, choking, bleeding, fractures, and more, this nationally recognised unit prepares students for real-world workplace and community settings.

This training is delivered as part of our Certificate III in Individual Support – Fast Track Program, combining flexible online theory, practical workshops, and 120 hours of Work-Based Training.

Our evening students stepped out of the classroom and into a real-life experience at Language Exchange event.

They met new people, practiced their English in a fun and natural way, and enjoyed some seriously delicious food, from savory meats to empanadas, one of Colombia’s most iconic snacks 🇨🇴🔥

But it didn’t stop there… dynamic games, lots of laughs, and plenty of opportunities to build confidence while speaking English made the night unforgettable 🎉

Our beginner students from Ruby Institute took their skills outside the classroom and into real life — visiting Fitzroy to try one of Melbourne’s most famous tiramisus 🍰

From ordering at a café to practicing everyday conversations, they’re building confidence one step (and one dessert!) at a time.

Our Ruby Institute students had the opportunity to join a barista course demo class ☕️✨

They learned the basics of coffee preparation, explored techniques, and got a taste of what it’s like to train as a barista 👩🏻‍🍳👨🏽‍🍳
