STORYTIME SCORES: Today, we came together for National Simultaneous Storytime, sharing in the joy of reading and connection through this year’s story, 'Luna Roo, the Kangaroo Balle'r by Adrian Lloyd and Adam Jackson.

Filled with excitement, teamwork, and courage, 'Luna Roo, the Kangaroo Baller' takes us into the world of soccer while exploring the power of believing in ourselves and channelling our inner strength.

Stories like these create meaningful opportunities for little niños to explore big ideas, encouraging confidence, resilience, and emotional growth, while nurturing a lifelong love of books and literacy.

MORE THAN A REFLECTION: The toddlers have been exploring identity and self-awareness through a simple yet meaningful mirror experience. As they observed their reflections, our little niños began recognising their unique facial features, expressions, and the qualities that make them individuals.

Moments like these support early language development while nurturing confidence, emotional awareness, and a growing sense of self and belonging.

MOO-VING DISCOVERIES: The Investigators have been exploring the natural world as part of their term project, deepening their understanding of animals, habitats, and the environments that surround them. As their learning unfolds, they have been considering the important roles farm animals play in everyday life.

To extend this inquiry, educators created a rich farmyard experience where little niños interacted with animal characteristics, practised caring behaviours, and strengthened communication through play.

WHEELS OF WONDER: With helmets on and wheels in motion, the little niños embraced a bike-riding experience that encouraged movement, confidence, and connection with their local community.

Beyond the ride, children strengthened teamwork, communication, and resilience as they supported one another and celebrated new achievements. Moments of challenge became opportunities for persistence and confidence-building, creating a meaningful adventure enriched by learning, wellbeing, and joyful discovery.

MIND THE SIGNALS: The Achievers have been exploring the world of transport, developing an understanding of how people and vehicles move through their environments. As part of this inquiry, they have been discussing traffic lights and their role in keeping our roads safe and organised.

Extending their exploration, the children created their own traffic lights using shredded coloured paper. Through this immersive experience, they strengthened their understanding of road safety, sequencing, and cause and effect, while expressing creativity through artistic expression.

DOSE OF DISCOVERY: Our little niños stepped into the world of medicine through rich, imaginative role-play, exploring the human body as doctors and patients. Equipped with stethoscopes and medical tools, they examined different body parts, shared ideas, and deepened their understanding of how the body works.

Through these authentic, play-based scenarios, the children refined their communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. The experience also fostered empathy, confidence, and a deeper sense of connection to others, as they made sense of the world through purposeful, experiential learning.

AUTUMN EXPLORATIONS: Our little niños embraced the beauty of the season, gathering fallen leaves and twigs to inspire their playdough creations.

With curiosity and care, they pressed, rolled, and shaped their dough, using natural treasures to imprint textures and patterns discovered in their outdoor environment. As they explored these materials, the children engaged in sensory-rich learning that encouraged creativity, observation, and a deeper connection to the changing rhythms of nature.

SENSORY STEPS: Our little niños explored a rich sensory pathway as they moved across a variety of surfaces, engaging their senses from head to toe. From soft and smooth to bumpy and textured, each step invited curiosity, discovery, and plenty of giggles along the way.

As they carefully navigated each surface, children developed body awareness, balance, and coordination. This exploration supported sensory processing and encouraged children to describe what they could feel, strengthening language and deepening their connection to their environment.
