In Classroom Four, the children have been exploring the language of paint through a large-scale collaborative art experience.

Rather than focusing on creating a finished “product,” our Reggio Emilia approach values the process — the exploration, experimentation, relationships, ideas and discoveries that unfold along the way.

As the children worked together, they explored colour, movement, texture and mark-making. They made decisions, shared space, responded to one another’s ideas and watched as their individual contributions became part of something much bigger.

There was no predetermined outcome — just an invitation to wonder, create and communicate through paint.

“Where does food come from?”

This was the question that sparked inquiry in our toddler environment, classroom four.

After a long journey, today alongside our wonderful educator Chris, we harvested some beautiful carrots. Children will enjoy tasting them alongside some bliss balls for their afternoon tea today. There are also plenty for us to take home and share with our families!

Amazing work classroom four.

What a fantastic way to conclude our Ocean Inquiry Project!

Our children had an incredible hands-on learning experience as we welcomed Tommy from Wildlife Xposure for a special marine life incursion.

The children had the opportunity to meet and learn about a variety of fascinating ocean creatures, including a shark pup, a seahorse, and sea stars. Through up-close encounters, thoughtful discussions, and interactive experiences, they deepened their understanding of marine life, ocean habitats, and the importance of caring for our environment.

This memorable experience beautifully extended the children's learning and curiosity throughout our inquiry project, bringing their discoveries to life in a meaningful and engaging way.

A big thank you to Tommy from Wildlife Xposure for inspiring our young learners and helping us celebrate the end of such a wonderful ocean adventure!

Children’s voice at the heart of every day.

This week, our children created locker tags for each one of our team members. Children were thoughtful in their approach to accurately represent each educator. Every day at Nido Early School Seaford educators build and nurture meaningful relationships with children across the service.

Our Kinder children are continuing their exciting Human Body Inquiry Project, exploring what makes our bodies so amazing through the Reggio Emilia approach.

This week, the children created their very own "X-ray machine," using their creativity, imagination, and problem-solving skills to investigate what happens beneath our skin. They also began learning about bones—discovering how our skeleton supports, protects, and helps our bodies move.

Through hands-on exploration, open-ended questions, and collaborative learning, our children are developing their curiosity while building a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.

We can't wait to see where their inquiry leads next!

Today our Kindergarten children from Classroom 3 enjoyed a very exciting visit to our local primary school as part of our School Readiness Program!

The children were warmly welcomed by the Vice Principal, who took them on a tour of the school and gave them a glimpse into what school life is all about. They loved exploring the classrooms, visiting the library to enjoy some stories, and finishing the visit with plenty of fun on the playground.

Experiences like these help build confidence, familiarity, and excitement as our children prepare for the next big step in their learning journey. We are so proud of how curious, respectful, and enthusiastic they were throughout the visit.

A big thank you to the staff at Belvedere Park Primary School for making our children feel so welcome. We can't wait for our next adventure!

Our curious learners have been diving into an exciting inquiry project all about the human body!

Working alongside our wonderful Kinder Teacher, the children explored how the heart and lungs work together to keep us healthy. Through conversations, questions, research, and hands-on learning, they collaborated to create their own model of the heart and lungs, demonstrating how these amazing organs pump blood and help us breathe.

This project reflects our Reggio Emilia approach, where children's curiosity leads the learning journey. By encouraging exploration, creativity, and collaboration, we empower children to develop a deeper understanding of the world around them while building confidence as capable and competent learners.

We are so proud of the children's enthusiasm, thoughtful questions, and incredible teamwork throughout this investigation. We can't wait to see where their curiosity leads next!
