Hi! My name is Ashley and I'm studying engineering and commerce. I've been tutoring for a year now, where I taught VCE Geography and high school science. As a tutor, I believe that education isn't one-size-fits-all and my goal is to personalise each session to suit my students' learning style, goals and pace, as well as to create a supportive environment where my students feel comfortable enough to ask questions. Furthermore, I aim to build confidence and want students to walk away from sessions feeling empowered with their learning.

Umang (South Bank): Hi! I’m Umang — a patient, passionate, and slightly nerdy tutor who genuinely loves helping students feel more confident in what they’re learning. Whether it's tackling tricky concepts or just figuring out where to start, I’m here to make learning less stressful and a lot more enjoyable. I focus on creating a calm, supportive space where students feel heard, motivated, and ready to reach their goals — no pressure, just progress

I have a strong background in maths, programming, and science, and I focus on building confidence by breaking down complex concepts into simple, relatable ideas. I aim to create a friendly and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and pushing themselves to grow.

The small group classes that Langwood tutoring works with, are environments designed by experience and research. Within these groups the opportunities for teachable moments are far greater than the standard one on one environments that tutoring usually exists in. Read in the link the Victorian governments stance on small group learning and how it can benefit your child.https://www.education.vic.gov.au/Documents/about/department/covid-19/Small_Group_Learning1.pdf

With the new school year just about to begin, I am reminded of all the years I spent working for tutoring organisations that did not understand the potential of the space they occupy. So often tutoring is a thoughtless supplement to work provided by schools, no principles or structure of their own, no real training given to tutors. Langwood Tutoring provides a well thought out program, designed specifically with the shortcomings of our education system in mind. For more information visit: www.langwoodtutoring.com
