🌈 Tiny Hands, Big Sensory Adventures 🌈
Our Babies 1 children have been busy exploring rich sensory experiences. From finger painting and sponge painting to water play and sensory tubs filled with textures to scoop, squeeze, splash, and discover.
These hands‑on moments aren’t just fun; they’re powerful learning opportunities where children are developing fine‑motor control, exploring cause and effect, building early communication skills, strengthening their sensory processing, and growing in confidence and curiosity as they engage with their environment. These experiences reflect the VEYLF, supporting Identity, Wellbeing, Learning, and Communication as babies explore, experiment, and connect with others through play.

🖐️ Handprints of Connection and Culture
Last week, during Reconciliation Week, our children created a beautiful handprint collage inspired by the colours and symbols of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags. As they explored collage materials, cultural books and Aboriginal puzzles, the children engaged in rich conversations about identity, belonging and respect.
This shared experience supported creativity, fine motor skills and teamwork while deepening our understanding of First Nations cultures.

✨ Reconciliation Week – Aboriginal Playdough Exploration ✨
Our Kindergarten children enjoyed a meaningful hands‑on experience this week as they explored Aboriginal culture through playdough. Using Aboriginal symbol mats and wooden stamps, the children created their own patterns while engaging in conversations about culture, stories, and connection to Country.
This experience supported EYLF Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world, fostering respect, curiosity, and appreciation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and traditions.

This term, our Toddler One children are exploring the importance of sustainability and caring for our environment. Their growing curiosity in the garden—sparked during outdoor play and inspired by time spent on family farms—has led to a beautiful hands‑on learning experience.
The children planted pumpkin and potato seeds, eagerly digging, patting the soil, and talking about how plants grow. Through gardening, they are developing responsibility, patience, and a deeper connection to the natural world. We can’t wait to watch their seedlings (and their learning) continue to grow throughout the term. 🌱💚

Our Kinder children have loved getting creative with open‑ended art and box construction. Using recycled materials, they’ve been designing rockets, houses, robots, boats and all sorts of imaginative creations. Through this hands‑on play, children are building problem‑solving skills, exploring how things fit and balance, and sharing ideas with friends as they create together. It’s been a joyful way for them to express themselves and think like little engineers and artists.

🚒 CFA Visit at B*H! 🔥
Today we were lucky to have the Beaconsfield Fire Brigade - CFA visit our centre and share the important work they do as volunteers in our community. The firefighters spoke with the children about how they help keep people safe- not just by putting out fires, but by responding to emergencies and supporting the community in many ways.
We talked about what to do if there was a fire and the importance of calling 000 in an emergency.
The children were fascinated as they explored real firefighting equipment, sat inside the fire truck, and of course had an absolute blast watching the fire hose.
A big thankyou to the Beaconsfield Fire Brigade - CFA for such an educational and memorable visit. The children loved every minute.

Our Kindergarten children have begun their visits to the Cardinia Mobile Library Truck, just a short walk from our service. These outings spark curiosity, build early literacy skills, and strengthen childrens confidence as they explore their local community. Storytime sessions with the librarian have quickly become a favourite, inspiring imagination and a love for reading. We're so excited to continue building these meaningful real-world learning experinces with our Kindergarten children. 📚☀️
