Been really busy with my theology studies so haven't posted here.
But lately this has been on my mind.
Limiting the divine to a simplistic, anthropomorphised man like God is dangerous.
We build God into our image rather than trying to see the divine in everyone.
Maybe I've spent too much time reading Christian mysticism but to me the divine cannot be understood in human terms.

This is unfortunately very true
We must remember we should always side with those who are being oppressed, and be willing to see when we're part of what is doing the oppression and fight to change that.

Evangelical Christians seem more selfish than Christ like, and the behaviour of some of them who went to the anti-lockdown rallies, side by side with far right, QAnon conspiracy nuts just shows they're pretty far gone.
The link between evangelicalism, QAnon and the far right is definitely something which is deeply troubling and terrifying.

Your inability to go to the pub because of a pandemic is not a human rights violation.

To all the anti-maskers, the anti-lockdown, anti-vaxers, covid denying whatever-you-wanna-call-them types.
Especially those who claim to be Christians
Stop it.

The gospel is clear; we should love all humankind regardless of s*xuality or gender identity, skin color, creed or nationality.
We should stand against colonialism, authoritarianism and fascism in all their forms.
We should feed the hungry, house the homeless, heal the sick and free the slave.
We should take on the cause of the oppressed, especially if it is done in our name.
We must tear down walls and borders, and beat our swords into ploughshares. We must end war in all it's forms.

We need to counter that narrative and be the change we want to see in the world.
We must help those in need.
Welcome the refugees.
Accept those in the LGBTQIA community.
Feed and house the homeless and hungry.
Fight all forms of oppression, especially those done in our name.

Found this gem on instagram.
Remember Jesus was a brown skinned man killed by the state as a political dissident.

While I have absolutely no faith in governments, what I would love to see here in Australia is for once, just for once, the government actually helping out the vulnerable.
We're in a global pandemic and NSW Premier doesn't seem to care so cases are sky rocketing.
The Liberal party has stuffed up the vaccine roll out.
Thousands of homeless people are still left without shelter across the country.
People out of work because of lockdown aren't given adequate financial assistance to help them survive.
Disabled people are still being left behind in financial assistance.
Economic interests seem to be more important to, but I'm not at all surprised.

Be Christ-like.
Gather a crowd and inspire them to anarchy.
Beat a politician with a whip.
Help out your local s*x workers.
Drink all the wine.
And donβt forget to preach equality.
