Today, the children extended their interest in creepy crawlies during a special visit from Cheryl at Little Sprouts.

They explored earthworms, learned about worm biology, what worms can eat, and how worm farms turn food scraps into nutrient rich compost for gardens.

Using magnifying glasses, the children closely observed the worms and bravely touched and held them while discovering fun facts, such as worms having no eyes or teeth and breathing through their skin. The experience encouraged curiosity, sustainability and respect for living things.

Today the children enjoyed a fun sensory experience creating pretend sweet treats using shaving cream, foam, colourful beads, and loose parts.
They scooped, mixed, and decorated imaginative desserts while exploring textures, colours, and designs. The activity supported sensory exploration, fine motor development, creativity, STEM learning, and teamwork as the children shared ideas, experimented, and worked together to create delicious looking masterpieces.

Incursion with Wayapa Wurruk

Today the kindy children learned about volcanoes through a fun sandpit STEM activity, exploring how eruptions shape the land. They also completed their final Wayapa Wurruk session with Cadia by making Grass Hair Planters, learning how plants grow and how to care for them. Both activities helped children understand that the land is constantly changing, provides for us, and needs to be cared for.

This week at Oarsome Drive, we’ve been celebrating Nature Week! 🌿

Our toddlers have been busy exploring all kinds of natural materials, getting creative by using them for painting and sensory play. From leaves to sticks, nature has become our art tool!

We’ve also been using binoculars to observe the world around us can you spot a bug? 🐞 The children have loved discovering the little creatures that share our environment.

It’s been a wonderful week of curiosity, creativity, and outdoor exploration!

Today our little one's participated in an orthodox tradition of colouring eggs.

During Orthodox Easter, eggs are dyed because they symbolize new life and rebirth, reflecting the resurrection of Jesus.

Traditionally, they’re colored **red** to represent Christ’s blood, but today kids use many colors for fun while keeping the tradition alive 🥚✨
