Finally — after much anticipation, the full allocation has been released!
This is probably the latest announcement we’ve seen so far.

This year’s total state nomination quota has dropped by nearly 6,000 places compared with last year.
Only two true “winners” emerged nationwide:
Queensland (+1,400) and Northern Territory (+50) saw slight increases, while all other states experienced reductions of 20–30%.

Looking at each state in detail:
• The largest cut in 190 went to South Australia, dropping from 3,000 to 1,350.
• The largest cut in 491 went to Victoria, falling from 2,000 to just 700.

This year’s allocation leaders are also confirmed:
• Highest 190 allocation: Victoria – 2,700
• Highest 491 allocation: New South Wales – 1,500

Overall, competition for state nomination is expected to be significantly tougher this financial year, with reduced quotas and higher thresholds.

Now we wait and see whether the states will release their first round of invitations before Christmas.
