What an incredible week we have had celebrating one of our favourite times of the year — BOOK WEEK! 🐿️💙📖

Our centre has been bursting with colour, creativity, imagination and plenty of smiles as our children and educators came together to celebrate the wonderful world of books. 🌈✨

👑🦸‍♀️🐉🐰 DRESS-UP FUN!
Our children and educators got right into the spirit, arriving dressed as some of their favourite book characters! From princesses and superheroes to animals and magical characters, we loved seeing everyone's creativity come to life. 🥰✨

📖💭 STORIES EVERYWHERE!
Throughout the week, our rooms enjoyed sharing a variety of stories, discovering new characters and revisiting some much-loved favourites. Our educators created special opportunities for children to gather together, listen, talk about the stories and let their imaginations take them on new adventures.

🎨✂️ CREATIVE BOOK-INSPIRED EXPERIENCES!
Books became the inspiration for lots of hands-on activities throughout the week! Our children created artwork, explored different materials, made special story-inspired creations, danced, sang, moved and played as they brought their favourite stories to life. 🎨🖌️🎶

🌟 LEARNING THROUGH IMAGINATION & PLAY

💜 WE ARE NOW AN MSFIN DROP-OFF POINT! 💜

We’re so excited to announce that Chipmunks by the Sea Early Learning is now a local drop-off point for MSFIN – Mums Supporting Families in Need! 🥰

MSFIN does incredible work supporting families experiencing hardship, providing essential items to those who need a little extra help. We’re proud to play a small part in supporting this amazing community organisation and the families they help. 💕

🛍️ ITEMS CURRENTLY NEEDED

We are currently collecting:

👕 Kids clothing – Size 4+
🧻 Baby wipes
🧦 Socks
🩲 Underwear
🧴 Toiletries
🛏️ Doona covers & towels
👶 Baby carriers
🎁 Christmas in July gifts

There are also lots of other items MSFIN can accept, including quality pre-loved clothing, footwear, toys, books, games and puzzles, as well as a range of baby and children’s items.

⚠️ Please remember: Some items can only be accepted brand new due to hygiene and safety requirements. Please check the donation guidelines before donating to make sure your items can be accepted.

📍 HOW TO DONATE:
If you have something suitable to donate, simply bring it to Chipmunks by the Sea between 7am–6pm and leave your donation at the front door. Our team will collect it and place it into our dedicated MSFIN donation tub. 💜

Every donation, no matter how big or small, can make a difference to a family doing it tough. If you have something sitting at home that another family could benefit from, we’d love for you to consider donating it. 🥰

At Chipmunks by the Sea Early Learning, we believe that some of the most meaningful learning happens through imagination and play.

Whether it's turning cardboard boxes into racing cars, creating funny faces with fruit and biscuits at morning tea, building towering castles with magnetic tiles and blocks, making beautiful music with instruments, or hosting a magical tea party with friends, every moment is an opportunity to learn, create, and explore.

We encourage our children to let their imaginations run wild, knowing that through play they are developing creativity, confidence, problem-solving skills, communication, and friendships that will last a lifetime.

🚜🌾 Farm Safety Week 🌾🚜

This week we're recognising National Farm Safety Week, helping children develop an early understanding of how to stay safe around farms while learning about the important role farms play in our everyday lives. 🐄🐑🐓

Throughout the week, our children have explored farm-themed stories, dramatic play, sensory experiences and discussions about farm animals, machinery and how farmers work hard to keep everyone safe. We talked about simple safety messages, such as staying with a trusted adult, keeping a safe distance from large machinery and always being gentle and respectful around animals. 💛

By introducing these concepts through play, children build awareness of their environment while developing respect for people, animals and nature. These experiences align with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) by supporting children's connection with their world (Outcome 2) and encouraging them to become confident, informed learners (Outcome 4).

Learning about safety today helps build safe habits for tomorrow! 🌱💚

🧸✨ Comfy, Cozy & Full of Smiles! ✨🧸

This week at Chipmunks by the Sea, we've been embracing all things warm and wonderful during Pyjama Week! 💤💙

Our educators and children have loved spending the week dressed in their favourite pyjamas while enjoying story time, imaginative play, creative art experiences and plenty of cosy moments together. Creating a calm, relaxed environment helps children feel safe, secure and ready to learn through play.

Whether we were curled up with a good book 📚, sharing laughs with friends 😊 or exploring exciting learning experiences, our children showed that learning can happen anywhere—even in comfy pyjamas!

These experiences support the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) by fostering children's sense of belonging and wellbeing (Outcome 1 & Outcome 3) while encouraging communication, creativity and meaningful relationships.

Last Thursday, our children gathered for a delightful Teddy Bear Picnic, bringing along their favourite cuddly friends to enjoy a delicious afternoon tea of fluffy pancakes 🥞 and homemade hummingbird loaf 🍌🍍. There were smiles, laughter, conversations, and plenty of teddy bear cuddles as our educators transformed an ordinary afternoon into a special memory.
