Cello Tuition with Francesca Mountfort Francesca's lessons focus on developing a relaxed technique, music reading, memory and enjoying making music.

Opportunities include concerts, AMEB exams, youth orchestra audition preparation, ensembles and online lessons. I am an experienced and devoted strings teacher, specialising in the cello. I’ve taught cello and tutored ensembles in many school environments, both primary and secondary and have been running my private teaching studio since 2006. My priority is to foster a joyful love for music throug

My students develop musical skills and concepts through Kodály techniques in rhythm, ear training, and singing while developing a relaxed technique for ease of playing and skills in music reading and memory. I am passionate about playing and teaching the cello. I love getting to know my students and embrace the challenge of adapting my teaching methods to accommodate their personalities and individual ways of learning. I find it especially rewarding to witness my students’ success in reaching their musical goals, whether an exam, audition, performance or simply mastering a piece they love to play.

Kobe's beautifully heartfelt performance of The Swan by Camille Saint-Saëns for his VCE cello performance. Kobe began lessons with me 9 years ago in year 4 and has been learning online since 2020. His technique, attention to detail and musicality prove that online lessons work! Kobe is currently working towards a grade 7 AMEB exam. Kobe has worked very diligently over the years to develop his technique and musicianship. I'm so proud! 😊
