✨ Feeling incredibly grateful and honoured! ✨

I am so excited to share that I have been named a FINALIST for Specialist Tutor of the Year at the 2026 ATA National Tutoring Awards! 🏆💙

Receiving this recognition means more to me than I can put into words.

My journey in education has always been about so much more than academics. It has been about helping children and teenagers who learn differently recognise that they are capable, they can succeed, and there is a way of learning that works for them.

Every day at Better Multisensory Learning Centre, I have the privilege of working alongside incredible students, families and educators. I get to see the determination behind every small step forward — the child who finally reads a word they have struggled with, the teenager who begins to believe they can get through their exams, or the student who starts to understand that learning differently does not mean they cannot achieve amazing things.

To have that work recognised nationally is something I am incredibly grateful for.

A huge thank you to the families who trust us with their children, to our wonderful students who inspire me every single day, and to the amazing Better Multisensory Learning team who share my passion for supporting neurodivergent learners. 💙

There have been so many people who have encouraged, taught and supported me throughout this journey, and this recognition belongs to all of them too.

Regardless of what happens next, I am so proud to be standing among the finalists and representing the specialised tutoring and neurodivergent education community.

Thank you to the Australian Tutoring Association for this recognition. It is a beautiful reminder of why I started this journey and why I continue to love what I do.

Feeling very proud, very humbled and, most of all, very grateful. 💙✨

At Better Multisensory Learning Centre, we know that every learner is unique. That's why we use a wide range of evidence-based, multisensory resources and teaching strategies to help children, teenagers and adults build confidence, independence and a love of learning.

For individuals with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, executive functioning challenges, anxiety, sensory processing differences and other learning difficulties, the right tools can make all the difference. One of the resources we love using is Kaiko Fidgets .

How Kaiko Fidgets can support learning:
• Improve focus and concentration.
• Promote self-regulation and reduce anxiety.
• Provide calming sensory input.
• Support emotional regulation.
• Increase engagement during literacy and mathematics.
• Help learners feel more settled, confident and ready to learn.

At Better Multisensory Learning Centre, these sensory tools are used alongside structured literacy, multisensory mathematics, visual supports, movement, colour coding, manipulatives and executive functioning strategies. Every resource is carefully selected to match each learner's individual strengths and needs, creating engaging, personalised sessions that support meaningful progress.

If you're looking for specialised support for a child or young person with learning or sensory challenges, we'd love to help.

A huge thank you to Kaiko Fidgets for creating innovative sensory tools that help so many individuals thrive in the classroom and beyond.

It was an absolute pleasure speaking with Heather from . Thank you for having me on the Love Literacy – Inspired podcast to discuss something I am incredibly passionate about—supporting children beyond their diagnosis.

Support doesn't stop with a diagnosis. In fact, that's where the journey truly begins.

Receiving a diagnosis such as Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, or another learning difference provides answers, but it doesn't provide the ongoing support every learner needs to succeed.

Some students benefit from explicit, multisensory literacy instruction. Others need support with executive functioning, organisation, emotional regulation, counselling, self-advocacy, or learning strategies. Many require a combination of these supports at different stages of their education.

As we discuss in this episode, there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Every child learns differently, and our role as parents, educators and professionals is to understand how they learn best and build the right supports around them.

The goal isn't to make every learner fit the same mould—it is to help every learner discover their strengths, overcome challenges, and develop the confidence to reach their full potential.

With the school holidays here, it's the perfect time to listen if you're a parent, educator, or anyone supporting a young person with learning differences.

Support doesn't stop with a diagnosis. I LOVED chatting with Alexie from Better Multisensory Learning Centre in my podcast. This is out now, perfect timing for the school holidays.

Receiving a diagnosis—whether it's dyslexia, ADHD, autism, or another learning difference—is often the beginning of a journey, not the end of one.
What comes next matters.

Some students need explicit literacy instruction. Some need support with executive functioning. Some benefit from counselling, advocacy, or learning strategies. Many need a combination of these at different stages of their education.

As Alexie Better shares in this week's episode of Love Literacy – Inspired, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to helping young people thrive.

The goal isn't to make every learner fit the same mould. The goal is to understand how they learn best and build the support around them.

💛 Every child deserves to be seen as an individual, with strengths to celebrate and challenges that can be supported.

Hearing directly from our students is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do at Better Multisensory Learning. Time and time again, our students tell us how much they enjoy coming to the centre, not only because learning is engaging and supportive, but because they feel understood, valued and confident in their abilities. Watching them develop stronger literacy, numeracy, study skills and self-belief is why we are so passionate about what we do.

If you would like to learn more about how Better Multisensory Learning can support your child or teenager, we'd love to hear from you. Contact us on 0468 302 808 or visit www.bettermultisensorylearning.com.au for more information about our specialised programs and services.

On Saturday, Better Multisensory Learning Centre proudly delivered a specialised G*T Preparation Workshop to support our VCE students, particularly those with ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, learning difficulties, and other forms of neurodiversity, as they prepare for the upcoming General Achievement Test (G*T) on Tuesday 16th June. Throughout the workshop, students were equipped with practical strategies and tools to approach the test, including:
✅ Study skills and revision techniques
✅ Annotation strategies
✅ Multiple-choice strategies
✅ Writing and paragraph structures
✅ Understanding and applying meta-language
✅ Time-management and exam preparation skills
✅ What to expect in university and post-school pathways
✅ Available support accommodations in senior school, TAFE, and university settings
✅ Recommendations for ongoing careers
It was fantastic to see students actively engaging, asking questions, and developing strategies that they can apply not only to the G*T but also to their future studies.
At Better Multisensory Learning Centre, we are passionate about empowering students with the skills, confidence, and support they need to reach their full potential.
If you are looking for additional support for your child or teenager in literacy, numeracy, executive functioning, study skills, ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, or VCE preparation, we are here to help.
