The Scotch Debating Program enjoyed a landmark year, highlighted by its inaugural Sydney Tour. Our top debaters competed against 10 leading Sydney schools across four days, gaining valuable experience, developing their skills and connecting with students who share their passion for debating. The tour also provided an opportunity to experience some of Sydney’s iconic sights and build friendships beyond the debating room.

This year also saw the launch of an inaugural debating series against Melbourne Grammar, hosted in Memorial Hall. Scotch won 7 of the 8 debates to claim both trophies, marking an exciting new chapter in the friendly rivalry between the two schools. We hope this series becomes a lasting tradition for both debating programs.

Every Wednesday after school, our Year 11 boys take part in social immersion programs making positive contributions to their community.

Yesterday, several students worked alongside Eat Up Australia, preparing healthy sandwiches for children who may otherwise go without lunch at school. The sandwiches were distributed today, helping ensure more young Australians have access to a nutritious meal during the school day.

An incredible end to a huge winter season! 🏆

Congratulations to our Cross Country Team on securing their first outright premiership in 21 years, winning by just one point. 🏃‍♂️

And congratulations to our First XI Hockey Team, who claimed their third consecutive premiership, breaking a deadlock against St Kevin’s College with a dramatic goal in the final 20 seconds of the Grand Final. 🏑

A remarkable achievement from both teams, and a fantastic reflection of the commitment, teamwork and sportsmanship displayed by all boys across our winter sports program this season. Well done boys! 🎉

School House takes the win! 🏆🔴

Another huge year of the Wedderburn Cup competition has come to an end. From chess, basketball, football and the famous billy cart race, the competition once again showcased the camaraderie and House spirit that make boarding on the Hill so special.

School House Captain, James (Year 12) described the competition as “something so unique, you wouldn't understand it unless you'd boarded.”

A standing ovation and a truly unforgettable opening night👏

Last night, audiences were captivated by the extraordinary talent on display in “Les Misérables”, as students from Scotch College and Lauriston Girls’ School brought 19th century France to life through outstanding performances, breathtaking music and an incredible set. 🇫🇷

A fitting centrepiece of Scotch College’s 175th year celebrations, this ambitious production has been years in the making, and what a result it was. The final curtain was met with thunderous applause, reflecting the passion, dedication and countless hours invested by the cast, crew, orchestra and production team.

Bravo to all involved on a spectacular opening night! 🎭
