The children in the Paperbark Room recently explored the vibrant concept of identity through a heartfelt activity centered on self-love and confidence. By sharing what they value most about themselves with their educators, the children were able to give voice to their developing personalities and inner strengths. This reflection was brought to life through art, as each child drew their chosen quality in their own unique style, later explaining the “why” behind their creation. It was truly moving to witness their diverse qualities—from kindness and bravery to their favorite physical features shine through, fostering a deep sense of pride and belonging within the group.

We are kind and respectful! 💜
Our kinders came together to celebrate what it means to be part of a caring classroom community. Each child stamped their painted handprint and added a promise about how they will show kindness and respect each day. Seeing them take ownership of their words and actions was truly heart warming. Together, we’re building a space where everyone feels valued, safe and supported.

Today we paused to remember. ❤️
Our kinder children learned about Remembrance Day and the incredible sacrifices people have made for our country.
They created beautiful thank you cards for our community heroes, firefighters, police officers, paramedics, doctors, nurses and many others, to show appreciation for all they do to keep us safe.
Lest we forget. 🌺

There is no doubt about it – kids are fascinated by bugs.
Anything creepy and crawly seems to attract children. Whether they dive right in and get down and dirty or watch from afar with caution, they are interested in insects.
Although it may seem gross to some, insects are a great way to teach your kids a number of skills without them even realizing it.
Many parents are worried about kids getting stung or bitten but with the right cautions, bugs can be a beneficial addition to your kids’ education (and a lot of fun to explore!).
Bugs help kids learn about endless concepts.
These include STEM (the way insect bodies are engineered), habitat (where they live and what they eat), lifecycles, counting (how many legs does this one have?), biology and other parts of nature like plants and trees among many other topics.

Why is it important for children to Recognise their names?
Name play in preschool also has many cognitive benefits which include the ideals that recognizing one's name helps children feel important, recognizing others' names builds community, name recognition builds concepts of print and begins the process of site reading .
