BUILDING BRIGHT BEGINNINGS: Each Monday, our Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten children attend the ‘Little Learners’ program at Sacred Heart Primary School.
This transition experience nurtures confidence, familiarity, and excitement for the journey into primary school through storytelling, creative arts, and engaging learning opportunities.
Along the way, children are strengthening important character strengths including love of learning, kindness, and perseverance, while developing a growing sense of belonging and readiness for school.

FROM KITCHEN TO CLASSROOM: We’re so excited to celebrate Wills, the new Early Childhood Teacher at Niño ELA Preston.
Wills’ journey with us is a special one — beginning as our assistant centre chef, where he brought care, creativity, and connection to every mealtime experience. After dedicated study over the past few years, he now steps into his new role as an Early Childhood Teacher, continuing to make a meaningful impact through strong relationships and a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning.
We’re so proud to have you as part of the Niño ELA Preston team, Wills.

STORYTIME SCORES: Today, we came together for National Simultaneous Storytime, sharing in the joy of reading and connection through this year’s story, 'Luna Roo, the Kangaroo Baller' by Adrian Lloyd and Adam Jackson.
Filled with excitement, teamwork, and courage, 'Luna Roo, the Kangaroo Baller' takes us into the world of soccer while exploring the power of believing in ourselves and channelling our inner strength.
Stories like these create meaningful opportunities for little niños to explore big ideas, encouraging confidence, resilience, and emotional growth, while nurturing a lifelong love of books and literacy.

RECIPE FOR CONNECTION: The centre was buzzing with excitement as we welcomed our fifth Grandparents’ Club of the year! With our club continuing to grow, it was heartwarming to see so many little niños and their loved ones gathering alongside our Centre Chef, Sangita, to bake delicious afternoon muffins to share with their families.
Grandparents’ Club provides a meaningful opportunity for grandparents to step into their grandchild’s learning journey, nurturing connections, sharing special moments, and strengthening a genuine sense of belonging within our community.

TALES COME TO LIFE: Our Pioneers stepped into ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’ through imaginative dramatic play, bringing the story to life as they became playful goats and the grumpy troll beneath the bridge.
With masks, mirrors, and storytelling props, the little niños explored character expression, experimented with voice, and built confidence through creative storytelling.
Revisiting the story together helped strengthen their connection to the text, while naturally supporting early language and literacy development through conversation and new vocabulary.

The children enjoyed a shared dinner followed by a cosy movie night, settling in to watch the beloved film ‘Zootopia’. Laughter filled the room as the children shared conversations, connected through storytelling, and enjoyed special moments together.

WHEELS, WINGS, AND WATERWAYS: Using a recycled box, the Pioneers engaged in an immersive transport matching activity, exploring where different vehicles belong in the world around them.
From roads to skies to seas, our little niños matched cars, boats, planes, and more to their correct environments, sparking curiosity and discovery along the way.
This open-ended exploration supported problem-solving, spatial awareness, and early reasoning skills, while encouraging rich conversations about how we move through and connect with our world.
