A TOKEN OF GRATITUDE: To celebrate Educator's Day, we took the opportunity to recognise and thank the incredible people who bring so much care, passion and dedication to our centre each day.

Each educator was presented with a certificate, a wholesome treat and a small gift as a token of our appreciation for all that they do.

A small gesture to say a very big thank you to our wonderful team for the difference they make in the lives of our little niños each and every day.

STORIES COME TO LIFE: Book Week is a wonderful celebration of the stories, characters and adventures that spark little imaginations. This year, our little niños embraced the spirit of the week by dressing up as some of their favourite book characters.

From curious explorers to much-loved storybook friends, our children brought plenty of personality to the day, while enjoying the play and learning that make each day at our centres so special.

It was wonderful to see their favourite characters inspire joyful moments, creativity and plenty of smiles.

WANDERING WITH WONDER: Every puddle, tree, and patch of mud became an invitation to explore during our Bush Kinder adventure.

With gumboots on and curiosity leading the way, our little niños embraced the wonders of nature—splashing through puddles, climbing trees, and delighting in the joy of muddy boots. Each child-led discovery sparked wonder, encouraged thoughtful risk-taking, and deepened their connection with the natural world.

At Bush Kinder, every outdoor adventure nurtures confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning through play.

COLOURING OUR EMOTIONS: Colours became a language for emotions as our little niños explored the Zones of Regulation through a creative art experience.

Using the colours from each zone as inspiration, the children reflected on how they were feeling and expressed themselves through their artwork. Each child shared the zone—or zones—that best represented their emotions in the moment.

Their thoughtful reflections were displayed alongside their creations, celebrating self-awareness, emotional literacy, and the many ways children communicate and understand their inner world.

A PATH TO DISCOVERY: Animals, monsters, and winding paths set the scene for a playful pre-writing adventure as our little niños strengthened their early writing skills through exploration.

Encouraged to "follow the path to escape the animals," the children carefully traced each route, developing fine motor control, pencil grip, and hand-eye coordination along the way.

With each activity offering a different level of difficulty, identified by yellow stars, the children selected challenges that matched their confidence while building focus, persistence, and independence.

MONSTER MOODS: Monstrous imaginations came to life as the little niños shaped, squished, and moulded their own unique playdough monsters.

Through this open-ended experience, the children discovered how different facial features can convey a range of emotions, expanding their emotional vocabulary and building confidence in recognising and expressing their feelings.

Along the way, they also developed early mathematical thinking by counting teeth, comparing the number of legs, and investigating quantity through their imaginative monster designs.

BENEATH THE SURFACE: The little niños embarked on an ocean-inspired sensory exploration, uncovering hidden sea creatures nestled beneath layers of soft sand.

Using small brushes, the children carefully revealed each discovery, fostering curiosity, patience, and focused investigation. As they explored, they shared observations and engaged in conversations about the creatures they found, expanding their vocabulary and deepening their understanding of the wonders beneath the waves.

CONNECTED THROUGH CULTURE: Throughout NAIDOC Week, our little niños celebrated the rich cultures, histories, and enduring contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples through meaningful learning experiences.

A special highlight was welcoming one of our Indigenous families into the centre, where a little niño's mum shared the traditional art of basket weaving and introduced the children to natural materials, including native plants and animal fur.

We also came together for a Morning Tea for Culture, celebrating connection, community, and the importance of honouring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

STITCHING MEMORIES TOGETHER: Our monthly Grandparents' Club was made even more special with a crochet session led by one of our talented educators.

Children and their grandparents enjoyed learning a new skill together, sharing moments of patience, perseverance and creativity along the way. Through the lens of Positive Education, this experience supported wellbeing by fostering positive relationships, engagement and a sense of accomplishment, while strengthening connections across generations.

BUILDING WITH BRUSHES: The kindergarten children recently explored construction trucks through a creative painting provocation that combined art, observation, and imaginative thinking.

Using a variety of animated and real-life images as inspiration, the niños selected their favourite construction vehicles and recreated them through painting. This open-ended experience encouraged them to revisit their ideas, create multiple artworks, and experiment with different ways of representing these vehicles each time they painted.
