We are providers of professional, accredited Forest School Leader Training and Development. We are the only Forest School training provider whose trainers also provide Forest School sessions to children of all ages and abilities on a weekly basis. rning Initiative (FSLI) was set up in 2006 by Christina Dee to take her experience of developing Forest School Training and running Forest school sessions to child care practitioners throughout the UK
Chris our company director began her Forest school experience in 2000 at Evesham and Malvern Hills College, including working with groups of children as well as child care students and students up to 19 years with learning difficulties. In addition, Chris was responsible for developing Forest School Leader Training Level 3, training Forest School Leaders locally all over the UK. From the beginning, all FSLI staff have continued to carry out Forest School sessions with children, aged 3-18 years -with the main focus on primary years - and all members of the FSLI training team lead regular weekly sessions in local schools. In 2007, FSLI was recognised as a Forest School training provider by OCN West Midlands Region, and has since trained more than 3000 Level 3 Forest School Leaders and supported them to develop and implement Forest School in their settings. Feedback from FSLI training courses has been exceptional, with the team consistently achieving a 95% completion rate and receiving outstanding positive feedback from students. Our model of training is an educationalist one, centered on the Forest School approach and ethos to facilitate and promote children's learning in line with Forest School Association Forest School principles. Ecological and Environmental issues are thoroughly covered throughout the training with the focus is on children's learning at all key stages, and their play experiences using the outdoors. FSLI has been running forest school courses in Australia since 2017. We train students in multiple locations in Australia including: Victoria, Queensland, and Canberra. All FSLI Training Tutors hold current DBS checks, Pediatric First Aid and First Aid at Work qualifications and run forest school sessions themselves.
